    Is Graham Harrell tough??

My goodness, I can't imagine trying to grip and rip a football for over two quarters with this injury...

ESPN - Source: Harrell has pins, plates put in left hand; should be fine for bowl

I guess I missed that it was his non-throwing hand. It's late...my bad! It still can't feel too good though!

    Re: Is Graham Harrell tough??

"The source said Harrell underwent four hours of surgery Sunday on the pinkie and ring fingers on his left hand, with 17 pins and two plates inserted in his hand to heal nine separate breaks."

I wonder how his hand got broken in 9 different places. Did someone step on it?

Bull. The kid was in serious pain because...

    - You could easily see it when watching that game.
    - Any broken bone hurts - regardless of where it's at.

Huge props to him for completing that game and still looking better than most QBs to boot.

no doubt it hurt, but its not unheard of. Well maybe nine separate breaks, but not broken fingers and finishing a game

    Re: Is Graham Harrell tough??

Yeah, broken fingers suck. Especially when you wake up the morning after you punched your El Camino in the divider between the window and the back because the piece of crap wouldn't start on a dirt road, and as you wake up, you catch that finger by itself while pulling a blanket over you. Or something like that.

I'm sorry but if he wouldn't have played he would have been a pansy.

It was on his non throwing hand. Has no effect on him throwing the ball. They gave him tons of medicine at half time, and they still had a chance of going to the Big 12 championship game if they won.

The guy is tough, but this is overhyped if people think most QB's in this situation wouldn't do the same thing. They would

    Re: Is Graham Harrell tough??

Nine different spots are crazy, but being in the pinky and ring finger on the non throwing hand, is pretty common. He is a player and stuck in there. Very well something ive seen Seneca Wallace do, something Austen Arnaud would do as well

I just like calling Tony Romo a ****. What are you doing posting on this thread anyway? Shouldn't you be engaging tarheel hawk on the hunkahawk thread?

Favre played with a broken thumb on his throwing hand one season.

    Re: Is Graham Harrell tough??

Any way you slice it that is still pretty impressive.

Hopefully he has no lingering effects from it. I would like to see him have a successful pro career. And before anyone says he's in a gimmick system I implore you to look at his size and arm strength. Two things that NFL scouts salivate over.
