    ISU vs Stanford

What is every one thinking about this big match up between #22 ISU and #5 Stanford???

I think we really need to get the 3's dropping from Aus Bolte and Ezell

We have the size to defend Stanfords big post players

What are the other keys to success??

    Re: ISU vs Stanford

I think we're going to get killed. The problem for ISU over the years against elite teams hasn't been size or 3 point shooting, but how we matched up with overall team speed and quickness. Can anyone tell me that has changed? Please do.

I really hope I'm wrong about this year's team, and the future of the program.

    Hit the 3's

    Rebound

Stanford is big! Their shortest starter from what I can tell is 5 10.....the rest are all over 6.

If ISU hits the 3's and plays good defense, they can pull this off. I just hope they play a good game.

    Re: ISU vs Stanford

i think we will do pretty well.. im really hoping for and upset.. just because where i am there is alot of oklahoma fans and i never hear the end of it whenever any iowa state team loses at anything..and this would be a huge win

Iowa State: Anyone who's a true college basketball fan needs to see a game at Hilton Coliseum. Nice is in the DNA of Iowans and the fans here are particularly gracious -- even when the home team loses but gives a great effort, they are appreciative.

ESPN.com picked Hilton Coliseum as the "Hot Arena" in the Big 12...coaches in the league noted that, "regardless of talent, the Cyclones have a home court like no other."

Is this the same AClone? Usually, you're much more optimistic. What a complete change of tone

See, I consider my optimisim "realism"...but some people disagree.

And by "getting killed", I'm saying losing by ten. That's "getting killed" for Bill Fennelly.

    Re: ISU vs Stanford

This is actually a decent match up style wise for us. Bill will have a plan...they are a great team but different than playing A&M, Baylor, etc.

Any suggestion for a betting line on this game?

I don't know the key to success, but the key to failure is trying to please everyone.

    Hones Out For The Season
Although Stanford collected a big 81-47 win over then-No. 3/2 Rutgers Sunday afternoon, the victory was tempered by the left-knee injury incurred by starting point guard JJ Hones. With 3:14 left to play in the first half, Hones was stripped of the ball as she went up for a shot, and upon landing suffered an injury to her left knee. After Monday's MRI, it was determined that Hones had torn the ACL in her left knee and would miss the rest of the 2008-09 season.

This might affect the games outcome.
