Hair Machanix next to Goodwill by West Ames Hy-Vee is good and about as cheap as you will come by in Ames, and they have some hotties working in there as well :)

Of course the Salon Professional Academy is by far the cheapest, and has a lot of good looking women. However its a school and your used for educational purposes, and the haircuts take at least 30 minutes.

Is Monte's still there? I am not recommending it unless you want to look like Biff from Back to the Future, just wanted to know if it is still around.

Good post. I want to go somewhere else than Great Clips.

I always get paired up with the Nebraska football fan and it drives me nuts. Nice guy (sorta), just bad team.

The Great Clips at the mall has a guy with a Flock Of Seagulls Mullet that does a nice job. You should try him out.

Who is that guy in campus town on Lincoln Way, is he still there? He did a good job but you had to listen to him rant about health crap the whole time.

I can't remember his name but I went there once and heard him rant on why you shouldn't drink milk. That alone made me never go back.

I used to go to a couple barbers, then to save money I shaved my head down to about a 1/2 inch or so. It was easy to manage and cheap.

Nah. Monty is the best. I've been going to him for over 20 years.

I cut my own with some clippers, one advantage of going bald in my early 20's.....
