    Still want Tim Brewster?

I live in Minnesota, and am already tired of Minnesota coach Tim Brewsters constant blow. Yes they got seven wins, but they beat no one and were blown out by any decent teams. Latest: Brewster has hired a new line coach and wants to go to the power running game. (what his predessor Glen Mason ran and was fired for)

"We are going away from the wide-open style of offense to the system I've always wanted, the power game."

When he was hired he said. "We are going to a wide open spread style of offense, that's the kind of system I've always wanted to run."

This guy is completely knee jerk. In the long run, Iowa State will have the better program, and Brewster will be gone.

    Not saying I want him.

However....we beat no one and got destroyed by any decent teams as well.

Not sure why anyone would be thinking about who we should have gotten as a coach. Last time I checked we have a pretty great coach right now.

Not Brewster, but I really wish we would have given Brian Kelley a sniff.

Isn't he the owner of the Beers baseketball team and father of professional baseketball? Oh, wait, no, that is Ted Denslow.

Why? So we could have gone 5-19 over the last two years with Kelley as our coach while we're wishing that we would have hired whoever Cinci hired instead?

    Re: Still want Tim Brewster?

I'd take going from 1-11 in Year 1 to 7-5 in Year 2 in a heartbeat. I don't see how anyone can be trashing Brewster at all for what he did.

He took huge steps forwards, we took steps backwards.

I'm happy with Gene Chizik as our coach but to bash Brewster is stupid.

Sounds like a version of the backup quarterback syndrome. The second option in a coaching search is always better than the one you hired.

I don't care about the coaches, but I'd take 7 wins over noone vs our 2 wins over noone.

Chizik is the man. Brewster was never a candidate, that was a creation by the media. I can't believe people are down on Chizik after only 2 years! McCarney was given 12 years, and left the cubbord bare. Patience, I know this year was brutal......especially the defense.
