    Players views on new coaches

I happened to get a chance to talk to a few football players out at the bar the other night.... don't worry they were all over 21! The consensus on the matter is that everyone really likes Chizik and McFarland. They said that Chizik is looking at getting rid of the, and I quote, "Players that don't deserve the honor of having a D1 scholarship or playing for this team." They also mentioned that Wayne Bolt seemed to be a hard *** and no one really said anymore than that. I don't know if this necessarily means they don't like him... they just said he doesn't seem like much of a people person.

We could use a hard *** or 2 to coach these guys.

I wonder if Chizik plans to purge the program of the aforementioned players? At least he's looking for players who are willing to earn their schollies...

Hard work is something to be desired. Hard work wins games. If someone isnt willing to do it that says something about them. Discipline is something ISU has needed and it is getting it with the new coaches. As long as the coach has a human side along side being a hard-a$# all should be well.

I tried to keep a non-objective view there, but I can't hold it in any longer. I like what they told me. We need a hard *** and we need a coach that doesn't put up with players that don't care or work there *** off. You go to school for free.... play like it.

Do you have a paper bag near by? jk. I agree with you, our team last year reminded me of Morgan's Bball team last year.

Re: Players views on new coaches

I would say there are a few questionable players on the offensive line and in the defensive backfield that could lose schollies...A few of the o-linemen might have to play next year, though, so they may be OK.

Re: Players views on new coaches

I think that the days of mediocrity being acceptable are over, esp. if we bring in a few big lads from Texas/Florida for the O-line. I still can't believe how bad they were this season, crap I had forgotten about that until just now.
