If this doesn't cry out for a playoff what does!

With the 3 way tie in the Big 12 south, it's going to be nuts sorting it out. Of course you can probably throw out Tech since they got blown out. My guess is OU will be ranked 2nd now. Even though Texas beat them.

Personally, I'm just excited it's college hoops season now!!

Texas wins the tie breaker right?

No it is who is ranked higher in the BCS at the end of the season that wins the Big 12 south. That will be OU once they beat OSU

What if OU goes to the championship game and loses to Mizzou. Is TExas then #2?

Probably not, Florida would be the #2 if OU lost the championship game, but you can't forget if OU loses to OSU then Texas would be in that Big 12 title game,

    Just a guess....

But if Texas and OU both win out......Texas will play Missouri in the Big 12 championship game....If Texas wins, they will play the winner of SEC championship match up between Florida and Alabama....

If someone stumbles then OU could get a shot, but head to head has to be your 1st tie breaker, no matter what formula they are using....

My prediction rght now would be Florida will beat Alabama.....Texas will win out .....and

Texas will play Florida for the mythical National Title.....

Bingo ! I have been saying for years that this what I hate about college football, in my mind without a playoff system college football does not have a true champion.

You can't use head-to-head because there are still 3 teams tied for the south, not 2. I know everyone is leaving out Tech, but they're still going to be 7-1. If you say Texas is ahead of OU because of head-to-head, then Tech is ahead of Texas, and OU is ahead of Tech. Circular logic just won't get you there.

Let me ask everyone this: after watching OU last night, do you think Texas could beat them right now? I don't.

if OU loses to OSU, and Missouri wins the Big 12 title game vs Tex or Tech, does the Big 12 get shut out of the NC game. what if alabama loses to auburn, then beats florida. does alabama jump backup there. craziness...

    My bad....

Forgot about TTech after the pounding last night......your right .....

It then as someone already stated will go to the highest ranked BCS team ....which in my opinion is BS.......should be decide on field not a computer formula of poll rankings...

if Texas played at OU, i think they lose. if OU played at Tex, i think Tex wins. If they played on a "neutral" field again, i'd take OU right now. they looked pretty damn good last night.

The real shame is if the big 12 ends up with 3 teams in the top 5 or 6 in the nation, they will still only be allowed 2 teams in BCS bowls. Pure crap.

I think that the BCS is Florida's to lose right now with . They will be the #2 team after this week. OU will be 3, Texas will be a close 4 and Penn State 5 and USC will be 6 and TTU will be 7. Oklahoma is the frontrunner in the Big 12 south right now unless they lose to OSU or win by the slimmist of margins and get bumped behind Texas.

Re: If this doesn't cry out for a playoff what does!

Yes, there should be a playoff but since ESPN has the rights after FOX, they will schill and pander and say what a great thing the system is.

They did the same thing when they had all the Big 10 games before the Big 10 Network was around. They used to talk up the Big 10 and then made it sound that every other conference was below them no matter what. I do not get to watch ESPN a whole lot but the last time I did they were talking down the Big 10 since their revenue does not all come from the Big 10 anymore.
