    Buy an American Vehicle!

I should go back and find the thread where people have patted themselves on the back for buying (insert the foreign automaker) vehicle because it was assembled in America. To the contrary, it was also noted that it was nice and nostalgic that some of us still make it a point to buy vehicles made by American car companies.

It seems many seemed to think there were no consequences to buying foreign vehicles.

I have to ask -- do you still think this way? Do you still feel good about yourselves? Do you still feel there was no consequences to your car buying decisions?

Yeah I feel good about buying a foreign vehicle. The big3 are going down in flames and they deserve it.

we are in a global market.. foreign cars or whatever ... the best products win... and IMO, that is way it should be. In that scenario...everyone wins.

I feel good that I bought an extended warranty on my Chevrolet, because without it I would have paid for it twice. My Toyota, on the other hand, only needs to see the serviceman every 5,000 miles.

Unions, unions, unions and regulation are putting the big 3 down. When you have to compete against people with less regulation and no stupid union contracts that are unfair to the employer you are at a huge disadvantage.

Probably for the same reason that your tax dollars are being used to bail out banks that brought it all on themselves.

Can't blame the automakers or anyone else. As long as we let our government become a facist business owner everyone will have their hands out.

Because we have recently elected a Democrat heavy Congress so there's a good chance this in fact will happen. No?

    Re: Buy an American Vehicle!

I have no problems with my decision to buy a foreign automakers car built in the USA. The big "3" have been making poor business decisions long enough that it is finally catching up to them. Bailing them out will only continue the cycle. Capitolism will reward companies who make a good product inexpensivly, GM, Ford, and Crylser have yet to figure out how to compete effectivly. It looks as though Japan has beat us at our own game. As for my tax dollars they don't "need" to be used to bail them out, it just might happen because the politicians are afraid to let the market correct itself.
