    Hoiberg in Ames over weekend

I saw Fred at Hilton both Friday evening and Saturday afternoon watching the games with his boys. It's really nice to see the Mayor take time out of his busy schedule and support his alma mater.

Re: Hoiberg in Ames over weekend

That's awesome! He has always been one of my favorite Cyclones! Maybe it helps that I went to ISU when he was playing there.

When he hit the shot to win the Alumni game, that was sweet poetic justice to me. Nothing fit better than Hoiberg for the win!

Since we are an elite team now, let's go get that One Cyclone Moment.
Make this one for the ages!

Let's hope that he had a sit down with Harrison while he was here and ORDERED him to go to ISU. The Mayor is like ice....when he doesn't like you, you got problems.

I am still hoping that Fred will come back and coach Iowa State some day

"Time out"? You really think that NBA folks have time outs during the season? I have a friend who's an NBA assistant--it just doesn't happen. If he's lucky, his dad meets him at nearby road games.

If anything, Fred was combining pleasure with business, taking his sons with him when he was in town for a peek at Craig Brackins.

He goes to FB games a lot too. I know I have seen him at one and maybe two games for sure. He is Mr. Cyclone, talks to everybody, he is one cool dude.

Knew Fred's dad who was a Prof at ISU. Classy guy. I'm sure the apple didn't fall far from the tree.

Craig Brackins? How about HB? A little personality evaluation? Just guessing

His boys are probably 6,7, and 8.

And yes, I do think Fred was taking a "time out." You really think NBA scouts care about Craig Brackins at this point? Give me a break... with that freshman season, Brackins is on nobody's radar.

He was right down the same row as us! Great to still he him supporting. And he is one or two jobs away from T-wolves general manager. So that will probably answer the question if he'd ever coach ISU.

The one bad thing Hoiberg has going for him, is Kevin McHale. McHale loves Hoiberg but the fans hate McHale.

Yeah, I was upset at McHale when he said Fred wasn't ready to be a GM a few years ago. Although it may have been true, that's a pretty low blow when talking about a current employee.
