    Why Friday Night?

Does anyone know why the ISU/UI MBB game always seems to be played on Friday night? Am I the only one that would rather see this game played at a different time? With no College Football or NFL games this Saturday I think that would be great. Plus then it wouldn't have to compete with all the Friday night HS games.

It is b/c Iowa won't allow their team to play games in finals week (including weekend leading into). The balance of the weekends in Dec. usually have conflicts with both schools and neither will play the home game w/o their students.

I don't really care what night it is on. It'sa good excuse to take a 1/2 day off work Friday then go out to the IC bars after the game...

Speaking of which, why do we have a B-Ball game scheduled right smack dab in the middle of finals week (Savannah State Dec. 13)?

    Re: Why Friday Night?

But what about the poor high schools, isn't the game intruding on the scared ground that is Friday night high school basketball? After all, that's the reason you don't see too many BCS schools playing on Friday night and that's the reason why in 2005, the NFL wouldn't allow the Chiefs/Dolphins game to be televised outside of KC when the game was moved to a Friday night because of a hurricane.

Pretty hypocrital if you ask me that it's okay for Iowa & Iowa St to play on Tuesday & Friday nights and no one cares, but if Iowa & Iowa St was approached by the networks to move their football game to a Friday night, all hell would break lose.
