    Boozer???

What are everybodies thoughts on Boozer? I am hoping he can be a solid player for us and produce some decent numbers. I'm not expecting 20 pts and 10 rebs but just a nice line each game and play solid D. Last year he looked like a dear in headlights when he got on the floor so hopefully he settles down this year. I've only got to see him one time in the Capital City League two summers ago when her first came in so I don't have a great perspective on what he may or may not bring to the table for us.

    Re: Boozer???

I have a feeling bad decisions are one of the reasons he doesnt play. Not uncommon for a young guard.

    Re: Boozer???

He won't play much. I think he looks to shoot too quickly, and has something about playing defense. He did better than last year, but I think he's still in the project stage.

I'd love to see him do great. Seems like a great kid, the crowd loves him. With some time, I'm hoping he'll be a lot of fun to watch!

Since we are an elite team now, let's go get that One Cyclone Moment.

He works hard, but as of right now, I would not expect much... Playing time will be limited at best. His defense bothers me and at times tries to do too much. Needs to just slow down and take what the defense gives him.

    Re: Boozer???

I agree with what has been said so far but I hope he can come around, he's just physically huge for a guard and I think that could help him as he progresses.

Not everyone can be a contributer night in and night out. I expect his contributions will be the occasional playing time and the posibility of hitting some 3's when others aren't hitting. By the time he's a senior, I bet he will contribute a lot more.

    Re: Boozer???

Looks like a role player to me. Don't see him as a starter.

Seems like he made some silly decisions last year.

Do you think some of him doing too much is b/c he may think he has higher expectations due to who his brother is? Maybe he's just trying to do so much to be the same caliber of player though he's not nearly as talented.

    Re: Boozer???

I think he will be a decent contributor off the bench. I think he has tremendous potential, it will be interesting to see over the next few years how he progresses.

His size was one reason I was really excited about him and hoping he could turn out to be a good player. A solid guard of his size would go a long ways in helping this team.

    Re: Boozer???

Im not expecting much out of him. He could be a decent off the bench guy maybe next year. He looks to shoot the three to often and just doesnt show an all around game. Seems content with sitting on the priemeter.

    I wondered about quickness, myself.

But I think his struggle is much what McDermott had with Jiri--he's struggling to get Charles to fit into the team mold, take his shots in the flow of the game.
