    A Ticket Question

OK. I haven't talked Revkah into this effectively enough (but there's still time), but I'm thinking that it would be a good time to shoot out to Iowa City for the basketball game in December. It's a Friday night, so it's pretty easy for me as far as work goes.

For Nebraska, we just buy those tickets from them. EIU's website isn't showing me an option to buy tickets there. This seems as friendly as most of their websites (yes, we were looking for other stuff there last month).

How do I buy tickets for this? Are they even selling single-game tickets yet? Do we have an allotment that I can purchase from as a season-ticket holder?

If we want to do this, how do I do this thing? Would we be run out of the Steak and Shake in Coralville for wearing our matching Cyclone sweatshirts?

    Re: A Ticket Question

I bought ISU vs. Nebraska at Lincoln tickets for last year's game. Just go on the website and buy them. It was pretty easy. And the tickets are cheap, maybe $15 or so. The only bad thing is that you get an email confirmation that says "Go Huskers" at the end!

Although ISU lost, it was a good time. There may have been just as many Clone fans as Huskers at the game. Also, the Devaney Center is a dump.

We've done Devaney two years in a row, and I think we'll do it again. Living in Nebraska for a little bit makes it a lot more fun to go there. Plus, we can visit some favorite haunts from there.

EIU's website didn't offer much help in ordering tickets for that game. I'm shooting for both here

I'm not sure where you guys are having problems but it's actually not too difficult to order tix to the EIU game. Go to hawkeyesports.com, scroll down to click enter site since they have the ad for games this weekend up, click on athletic tix office under the header, choose mens bball, at the top there will be a link that says 10 great ways to blah blah blah, click it, then the 3rd paragraph down says Click HERE to order online, click the word HERE and select Mens Bball 08-09, then choose the ISU game and it will guide you the rest of the way.

I thought that already happened once. At least the waitress kept making jokes....

I don't know if he started on the Academic website and searched from there, but I've been trying to help plan a ladies retreat where I need both Hawk and ISU stuff....the academic site and links always give me fits

No. There are so many Cyclone fans living in Iowa City that you might get a little bit of talk, but nothing big. There is actually a higher proportion of Hawks living in Cedar Rapids than in Iowa City. Make a point of wearing TONS of cardinal and gold; that's what I do every time I go back home!

That said, why on earth are you going to Steak and Shake? The wait times there are even more horrendous than most other S&S locations, since it's right next to I-80. There are plenty of other great places to eat in Iowa City; hit up a local restaurant. If you want recommendations, send me a PM; I'm happy to help.

    True and Valiant

I also remember a game with Kansas when Cy (wore a huge suit then) went out to center field, squatted, and "pooped" a couple of chickens that had been dyed blue then chased them around.

    Re: A Ticket Question

I went to www.uiowa.edu, and followed their athletic links, which was a mess. The other link works much better. Thanks!

On the other hand, I am extremely proud of my lack of knowledge regarding the purchase of Hawkeye tickets

If we end up going, I will certainly take you up on this idea. But Revkah loves the S&S.
