    Dogs at tailgate (and games)

Was mentioned in another thread and got me wondering (again) why people bring their dogs to tailgates? No, I don't have a dog, but I didn't bring my daughter either (when she was very young and not going to the game.) Just something/one else to take care of when I'd rather be doing something else. That's why we hired babysitters.

Re: Dogs at tailgate (and games)

I don't see anything wrong or weird taking either a dog or a kid to a tailgate/game.

I also don't see anything wrong with doing this.

I also see no point in taking a dog tailgating. It seems some people just can't go into society without their dogs. I don't know why?

My kids like when people bring there dogs. I think they are crazy. The dogs seam to enjoy themselves. I am sure the people insurance companies are not crazy about this either.

I think it is odd, but I don't like people bringing their dogs little league games, etc either. They are a nuisance in that situation. And by the way I have two dogs at home.

Re: Dogs at tailgate (and games)

The only way I would even consider bringing a dog is if I had an RV to put them in during the game. No way I would keep my dog in the car or even worse, not go to the game to babysit the dog...

As for kids at the game, I don't have any now, but probably won't bring them untill they are old enough to understand the game... That's what my parents did with me...

Well behaved dogs are fine. I mean, what better way to say "I'M A HUGE LOSER SO I BROUGHT MY DOG FOR ATTENTION"?

    j/k. sorta. ;)

Re: Dogs at tailgate (and games)

I brought my kid to the all the games so far, she is now 10 months old, but wont be making the trip this Saturday, too long and cold of a day. As far as the dogs go, people bring them because they dont want to leave them for 10 hours without a bathroom break, plus the people and dogs enjoy themselves.

Re: Dogs at tailgate (and games)

Obviously you shouldn't leave your dog in the car while you go to the game, but for people that only tailgate I see no problem. You're outside having fun, the dog is outside having fun, seems normal to me.

Geez, it's their choice. I loved having our kids at our tailgate when we would bring them. Never brought a dog, but as long as it doesn't bite other people and you clean up it's poo, who the hell am I to tell you how to enjoy your game day?

In our case, they are women and girls that dont go to the game and stay in the RV with the dog.

    Amen,

As long as the dog is taken care of and not left to bake or freeze in a car while people are in the game - who cares if they bring them?
