    Our trip to Colorado

We flew out at 630 from DSM and made the easy drive from Denver to Boulder without problems. We stayed at the same hotel as the Cyclone party which made pregame quite easy.

Their stadium is really pretty nice. The concessions area on the side we sat was the old field house so it had plenty of room. Good selection of concessions. We scalped tickets on the 30 yard line 15 rows behind the ISU bench for 30 a piece, which was pretty nice. Lots of seats were open, but they place seemed decently full for 46000 people and made for a good atmosphere.

The CU fans around us were really pretty nice (which surprised me a little bit.) Even after the game they laughed with us a little bit and were shocked we tried running an option play with our 'giant QB'.

Watching Ralphie was even more sweet than I imagined. That place would probably go crazy when they would do that for a meaningful game.

The game itself was completely up and down. Our offense shows some really nice signs of being solid and actually same with our defense. Chris Brown in my opinion made a HUGE HUGE HUGE HUGE HUGE impact when he was in there. Late in the game he took himself off the field (looked to be dinged up) and when Hunley came in the wheels fell off. He's a good physical player, but he and James Smith seemed 100% completely lost during coverages. We ran the ball very nicely which was good to see. Arob looked quick and ran hard. Guys again played till the end and put themselves in a position to win the game.

The next day we took off for Rocky Mountain National Park which was awesome. Lots of wildlife and beautiful scenery.

Dunno if they showed this on tv or if anyone else in the stands saw it...but the first time Ralphie ran out onto the field, two of the handlers got run over and drug a few yards. Pretty funny.

    Re: Our trip to Colorado

flew out to the game as well...i agree on all points, especially about the CU fans...given the few i have come across in Ames, i was expecting a harsher reception.

while the defense is a work in progress (understatement i know), i saw some things out of the offense i have not seen since seneca and ennis were playing. what appeared to me from where i was sitting was a middle screen to colin franklin was an awesome play. the long runs by alexander were encouraging. the kick off returns and special teams are ahead of schedule.

right now, these are the little victories i am taking away from our games.

if i was to second guess the last play, i would have had arnaud spike the ball one more play since it was still only 2nd down, then regroup and make a better attempt at executing a play.

while disappointed with a loss, the trip was still worthwhile. definitely one of those must visit venues to watch a college football game.

    go cyclones!!!!

Hopefully, CB will be healthy enough to go for UofM and KSU because the defensive gels alot better, it's a much much tougher secondary with him!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Re: Our trip to Colorado

I was at the game. I liked Folsom Field the first time I was in it 2 years ago, and still like it today. The old Field House is cool. Anyone notice the track only had 3 lanes? The game was up and down. I got that sinking feeling about our D early in the 4th Qtr. We lost, but the CU fans were still polite us. My friends and I commented how it was nice to be able to walk back to our vehicle and not get constantly chastised, and assaulted like we did at the UNLV game.

Stayed in Denver both nights (Friday, and Sat.), and went out downtown. I did see a little bit of a street brawl, and one guy got knocked out for what seemed like a few minutes.
