I say we tell ESPN to stick it

Like many posters, I have been watching ESPN's weekly bottom ten list with a sense of both anticipation and dread.

I fully expected us make an appearance after the whipping in Waco and all we got was mention on the waiting list.

Once we were on the waiting list, I thought our appearance would be guaranteed after the slaughter in Stillwater, but still we were denied and held to the waiting list.

With two weeks on the waiting list, our appearance is probably automatic after the beating in Boulder. If ESPN had been proactive and recognized our suckiness with a Bottom Ten ranking earlier in the year, I would say hats off to them. But now? It shows they didn't know anything and are just now jumping on the bandwagon. I say we write to ESPN and tell them their recognition is too little, too late, and to take their list and stick it.

P.S.: For those who take everything literally and have no sense of humor (you know who you are), the above is sarcastic humor.

Gene Smith, 1993-2000. 7 years, 6 NCAA's, 1 bowl game. Revenue sports postseason participation 50%. Good.
    Bruce Vandevelde, 2000-20005. 5 years, 4 bowl games, 2 NCAA's, 2 NIT's. Postseason participation 80%. Better.
    Jamie Pollard, 2005-. 4 years. 1 bowl game, 0 NCAA's, 0 NIT's. Postseason participation: 13%. The next big step.

My ignore list: splitidentity, tarheelhawk, superdorf, clones_jer. That is all.

I am sick and tired of not getting the disrespect we deserve. Anyone got a complaint address for ESPN? I am emailing them. If they still don't give us the disrespect we deserve, then I am canceling my cable.

Washington State is really bad. So are we. It'd be a great game to see who is the most dominant suck-*** team.

Ouch. Well, we know the answer for two of those teams.

Careful...not being very faithful fans here. ;)

I was surprised we didn't make the list a couple weeks ago.

As far as that list, I'm not sure. We've lose to 2 of 'em. Ugh.

Washington and Washington State are both god-awful teams.

But look at who they've collectively played in their nonconference schedules: Hawaii, Notre Dame, BYU, Oklahoma State, and Oklahoma. That's like going to Las Vegas, handing your money to a dealer, and asking to be kicked in the nuts.

Re: I say we tell ESPN to stick it

We could play a round-robin with Washington and WSU. The team with the best record wins the CornApple Cup. Now we have two new rivalries, a new trophy, and we know if we belong with the bottom-dwellers right now, as well as giving us the chance to pound them on the way up!
