    reminds me of those also. But, then I look at the 2000 bracket and it also reminds me of the *** kicking UCLA received by the Clones. Most of the media said the Bruins were too fast, too athletic, too etc.....guess again. That had to be one of the greatest games an ISU team had ever played.

    there had to be a consolation game because some of the team records show more losses than years in the tournament, which wouldnt make sense without them losing in the consolation game as well.

    I think they got rid of the consolation game after the 1980 tournament. I remember Iowa losing to Louisville and Purdue that year.
