Nice weather we are having! That's about as close to non-partisan as I am going to get.

So are some areas already done polling? I figured we wouldn't get any results until past 8 PM tonight?

Re: Official Election Day 2008 Discussion Thread

I added the schedule of closings to the first post.

Dixville has a special midnight polling every year. It went for Bush by a large margin last time and has gone Rep just about every year.

Re: Official Election Day 2008 Discussion Thread

I voted early on Friday at 11:00 am. They said that they had more first time voters than ever. I waited in a 40 minute line and they said that was normal. Also, they said the workers down there hadn't been able to take a lunch for days because of the number of voters coming through. Go VOTE!!!!!

Just in case you didn't know... I'm a girl.

Re: Official Election Day 2008 Discussion Thread

I am going to try to go vote, but I refuse to wait three hours in line for 2 candidates I am not happy with. I guess I am going to be unamerican today if the lines are too long.

Agreed...I'll vote, because I think everyone should. But, I WILL NOT wait in a long line.

Agreed, and I'm not taking off work to do it either. Hopefully the lines will be shorter after dinner, unless everyone is a procastinator like me.

Listening to Mike & Mike this morning and Golic was talking about his son being able to vote for the first time. He said he couldn't stress enough the importance of finding a polling location with the best catering. "You walk into a place that just has coffee and donuts, you turn right around and go find a place that has sandwiches. They are out there." Pretty funny stuff if you actually heard it.

Re: Official Election Day 2008 Discussion Thread

I just got done voting in West Des Moines. Showed up at 6:50 and there was a line of about 50. By the time the polls opened, the line had doubled in size.

I was walking out the door by 7:25 and was voter #48.

Biggest Annoyance: No "I Voted" stickers.

I'll be trying to sneak out mid afternoon trying to sneak in between the lunch and after work crowd.
    Get out the vote!
