Scout interview with new commit Wesly Staten

I hope they can add Marcus Paige and we might have a great future backcourt.

I'm glad he's a cyclone, but he came down to watch practice with his JUNIOR High coach. I always have a hard time comparing myself when I was 13 and 14 to these kids and the decisions they make.

He'll probably grow a couple more inches and put on 30-40 pounds before he steps on campus. That would make him a nice sized freshman guard. I hope he continues to develop his skills and turns out to be a real good pick up. Nice work.

Hoping this pans out. Always leary of the early offer/acceptance. Hopefully he blows up and remains loyal.

    That's what I meant.

It's tough to get super excited about these kids that commit this early - in all likelihood they won't play with a single member of this year's team unless one of them does end up redshirting. It just seems so far off. I love anybody who wants to don the cardinal and gold though.

Re: Scout interview with new commit Wesly Staten

I went to Sioux City West and graduated two years ago obviously this kid was not there but I talked to a friend who is a former coach when Kirk Hinrich was there. He said that this kid is above where Kirk was as a freshman with more talent and potential. Hopefully this will pan out.
