    North & South

Will the North ever have a winning record against the South again? I've noticed that the Big 12 North is pretty young. CU's offense is very young. K-State is losing only 3 starters. Mangnio is playing more and more youth. I looked at KU's depth chart for K-State and I was shocked to see they are almost as young as ISU. That could be why KU isn't playing as good as I wanted them to. Missouri and Nebraska are graduating the most starters, but they have recruited better than the rest of the North so they probably will be able to reload easier. It looks like the Big 12 North is returning quite a few players so hopefully they'll be able to compete with the South. What do you guys think?

It is interesting to look at the last like 20 National Champions and see that an overwhelming majority come from warm weather climates. This is probably because traditionally the best ball players in the country come from warm weather states and don't like to be cold.

IMO, the North is ALWAYS going to have trouble competing against the South.

    Re: North & South

It will always be a challenge for the North to sustain itself long-term against the South, primarily because of all the built-in advantages the South has. Like all things, the South's dominance is cyclical, and I'd expect the North to put up a fight at some point again, but it probably won't last nearly as long as the South's dominance. I thought the tide was turning last year when Missouri and Kansas had great seasons, and several years ago Nebraska, Colorado, and Kansas State were all very strong. But the North has definitely regressed this year, and the South has been so impressive.

    Re: North & South

The South has looked unbelievable. Even when the North had a winning record against the South like last year, a South team still won the Big 12 title. With OSU and Texas Tech getting as good as they are it's going to be very hard for the North to compete. Even Baylor looks a lot better, and with the way A&M is recruiting they won't be down long. I guess KU and ISU ought to be glad we are in the North. I think if KU was in the South we would just never be able to compete.
