    OK State Pre-game thoughts

This game is on ABC for most of Big XII Country.

I think most of us would agree that a competitive game that isn't completely over by the end of the 3rd Quarter would be a successful effort.

Can the Defense make the improvements that the Offense made last week?

Can the Offense continue to move the ball and establish some consistency heading in to a winnable game against Colorado next week?

How will the O-Line perform without Knapp, and will Lamaak play?

Is this the week that LJ busts one and ends our Kick/Punt TD Return drought? (had to include that one.... again )

I wouldn't count on it with the speed that the Cowboys have on special teams. I'd settle for a pick-6 instead.

I'm hoping it's within 4 TDs. The spread is 30.5.

To answer your questions: No, No, Poorly/Doubtful, No.

Don't want to seem like a downer, but I was here to see OSU just about take out the Horns last weekend and they are very, very good.

You mean next year, next year, maybe next year, next year.

Don't you know, we are always better next year.

    Re: OK State Pre-game thoughts

You know, going into last year's game against Missouri, I really thought we would get streamrolled, but we played a very competitive game. I think we *might* have a chance to do something similar in this game, but it depends on if the offense decides to show up. I don't think our defense--who yielded 49 points and 500+ yards to A&M--is going to do anything to stop them. We can make it a game if we can score some points. Hopefully our funk (10 against Baylor, 7 against Nebraska) is over, since we've put up over 30 in every game otherwise.

    Re: OK State Pre-game thoughts

I'm surprised no one has mentioned this yet but we need to do exactly what OSU did to Texas last week.

Keep the ball in our hands, not theirs. While we may think a shootout is the only way to stay close/win this game I believe it's using a ball control style that keeps their offense off the field.

We haven't shown the meddle but a couple of 8 minute drives would go a long way to making this a game in the 3rd and 4th quarter.

I'm preparing for the worst and hoping for the best. That's about all I can say about it.

Score first, score second, score big. Real simple. Just SCORE. No more winy fieldgoals. Go for it on fourth down like a Leach would.
