New Weekly "Lessor of Two Evils"

On a different forum, I did a weekly "lessor of two evils". It was somewhat fun, forcing members to pick between two horrible things.

So, I'm going to kick it off here. Sometimes it will be sports and/or ISU related and sometimes not. Each time though, it can be found in the Off-Topic section. I'll include a poll with it as well, just two choices. Please feel free to discuss.

So for the debut of "Lessor of Two Evils", we'll start with an ISU dilemma...

    Which scenario is better....

    - Losing to #15 seed Hampton in the NCAA tournament as a #2 seed.

    or

    - Losing to Boise State on the Blue Field after being ranked #9 at one point during the season.

    Make your choices and discuss!

Remember, you're voting for and making your case for which scenario was better, not worse.

Re: New Weekly "Lessor of Two Evils"

Losing to Hampton was far far worse. In fact, losing to Boise on the blue turf wasn't the worse thing that'd happened that season. Just before that we lost at home to Connecticut. The Hampton game was far worse because we had so much more to play for.

Re: New Weekly "Lessor of Two Evils"

I would say losing to Hampton.

We were the #2 seed playing the #15 seed and now every March during #2 v #15 games we have to see the clips and announcers rehash it.

In the Humanitarian Bowl at least we lost Boise St. that was ranked in top15 and on their home Turf.

    Both very embarrassing though.

Re: New Weekly "Lessor of Two Evils"

See...I voted that Hampton was the lesser of two evils. At the time, it was painful, but it was quick.

Perhaps when I think of the football season that peaked at the #9 ranking I consider the entire season and not just that one loss. To me, that was agonizing...a long, slow death.

Re: New Weekly "Lessor of Two Evils"

Oooo, that is difficult. Thanks for bringing back that pain.

IMO losing to Hampton was much more embarrassing but losing to BSU just capped off the most disappointing ending to a season you could ever imagine.

I'd have to go with Hampton as the worst.

Re: New Weekly "Lessor of Two Evils"

Blueballs..err field bowl was an easier loss to take as it was now to a perennial good team in BSU at home and didnt effect the chance at a national championship, Tinsley eyes were on the prize, hmm Hummer or Benz next year?

Re: New Weekly "Lessor of Two Evils"

Oh, and Boise was the lesser of two evils. At least there we were already in let down mode after the season blew up on us. Hampton came out of the blue for the most part, though if I remember right, they lost to Baylor in the Big 12 tournament right before that. And we get to see highlights of the Hampton loss every freaking March.

I agree, the bad part of Boise was having to take the envite to the Bluefield bowl
