    Hot Beverages

I am a total beverage guy, and of course, in the summer there are a variety of drinks that are great for the climate. I know that beer is for every climate, but what do you all drink in the winter?

I'm a big coffee snob, but in the afternoons I go with tea.

I usually like a traditional Earl Grey, made the English way, with milk. But lately, I am obsessed with a double-spice black Chai.

    You?

    Re: Hot Beverages

I don't really change my habits much. Maybe a bit of seasonal beverage ala Cider or Egg nog, but it's still mostly the same sodas and mostly the same beers, though I will drink a bit more wheat beer in the summer, and a bit more stout/porter in the winter.

I drink hot chocolate and apple cider in the winter. That is about all that changes in my drinking habits.

Tea tastes like someone strained water through a dirty sweat sock. I am not sure how anyone drinks this.

    Coffee, coffee, and coffee.

And hot chocolate (with peppermint schnapps) on a cold night.

Same here. I might have a cider or hot chocolate (allergic to egg nog) once or twice, but that's it. Honestly, hot beverages kind of just don't seem right to me as far as drinking something refreshing.

We are energy conscious (read: poor) and keep the house cold, so hot beverages are cheaper than natural gas.

It reminds me of my days in England, too...a cold, damp flat sitting around drinking tea with my friends.

Coffee in the morning. Hot Dr Pepper with a lemon slice in the evening. You can put Captain Morgan in it for a pick me up.

I would guess your opinion is based on the fact that American tea is crap. It's basically just stems and trash that is rejected by the rest of the tea-drinking world.

Outside the US, they only use the leaf part of the tea, and it's actually rather tasty.

But myself, I favor strong, black coffee. Navy coffee if I can get it....
