    After today's press conference....

I am more convinced now than ever that Chizik will get it turned around.

I know there has been a lot of talk about how we should have more wins than we do and how the coaches aren't getting the job done and so on.....

I agree.... we should've won more games than we have... like kansas, unlv, and baylor. But I still feel that Chizik is the right man for the job.

Our offense just had their most productive game since 2002 and our qb, rb, 2wr, and multiple offensive linemen are all either freshmen or sophomores..., while I do think the team is lacking a little confidence right now, it WILL get turned around.

I think we are starting to see it because the recruits we are getting as a whole are more athletic than any other classes we have had. Chizik is making it a priority in signing play makers and it will soon become evident more and more as the recruits mature.

I am not making excuses as our defense has been awful we expect better as we should. But all the fairweather fans that are already losing faith in our coaching staff needs chill give them a few years to build a winning team in the toughest conference in the country. Have some faith.

Sorry, had to get this off my chest.

I agree with your post except for replace Baylor with Iowa.

I don't think many will disagree with you.

What's most frustrating is that it seems what's the weakness one week, is a strength the next, or vice versa.

This week the O did all you could really ask of them and the D forgot what sport they were playing. Two weeks ago and even a little last week, the O did the D no favors whatsoever. Against KU we looked lights out for a half, good for another quarter, and absolutely lost for the other 15 minutes. Could say the same about UNLV except that went 50/50.

It just seems like there's a rule at ISU that doesn't allow us to play well on both sides for 60 minutes of a single game.

I said in the 2nd half on Saturday, once we plug one leak on this team, another one opens up - or gets worse.

I hope this is inexperience. Once they get some years on these guys this should start happen for us and the gaps that we have to fill in with recruits gets fewer and fewer.

One thing that is impressive about our D is that we shut down the traditional, 2-wide, I-formation offense very well. Unfortunately, everyone in the B12 is running some variation of the spread it seems.

    Re: After today's press conference....

They talked about this on SoundOFF last night. They had a guy from the DSM Register on talking about the Cyclones. I know most don't like the Register, but this guy made a great point. This years team is frustrating because they tease you. They play terrible with flashes of greatness only to come back down to terrible. It's the inconsistency that is driving most insane right now (including me).

I think in alot of cases that's very much the reason.

Not saying it's a lock we win. But if we're a little more experienced in the KU game, I don't think that first KU TD is quite as devasting as it was. A more experienced/older team can respond better and faster than we did. Seemed like it took the 3rd and into the 4th for us to regain composure. By then KU took full advantage.

The other frustrating part of that game is that I really thought the lead and then the come-back would've taught our younger players that "hey, we can really play with the better teams". It just hasn't really carried over. Maybe that's youth as well.

A positive outlook from a fan? On a message board???

Thank you. Glad you're not calling for Chizik's firing. Or to kick all juniors and seniors off the team. Or to implode Jack Trice.

Just when I think we're all starting to sound like NU or Iowa fans, you post something constructive and positive. Thanks.

Ok, you're about the 1,000,000 person to say something about my sig name. Yes, I understand that Todd Blythe doesn't play here anymore. I know that he didn't live up to expectation. I'm aware. I joined CF and he was my favorite player, so I chose my sig name accordingly. I did not once state that we should "throw it to Blythe" more often. Are we not mature enough to read what someone has posted rather than just poking fun at their sig name?

    Get over it.

Whoa...I was just having a bit of fun on a day in which most are griping about something or other - no jab intended at all.

    Take a pill...

But seriously, if we were throwing it to Blythe more - we'd be undefeated this year.

Ok, then I apologize. Sorry, about 1 out of 5 posts I get some smart*** comment back about my sig name. If you're going for fun, I thank you! I've been trying to keep my head up about this team as well.

Aaand back to the original topic...

Can anyone summarize what was said during the conference? More of the same? Meaning, we need to execute, our guys are young, etc?

On a positive note, I don't think we had any personal fouls Saturday.
