    Reverse Troy Davis effect?

Is there such a thing as the reverse Troy Davis effect? As we all know, if ISU had winning records during Troy's two magical 2000 yard seasons, he would have easily won the Heisman twice and be considered one of the greatest college football players of all time. Of course, the Clones were awful when Troy played and we all know what happened at the Downtown Athletic Club.

Getting to my point... has anyone seen Tim Tebow's numbers for this year? He's thrown for 1,253 yards and only 10 touchdowns yet he's on all the "expert's" Heisman watch lists? How is this possible? In my opinion, it's the reverse Troy Davis effect. Not only has Tebow won the Heisman before, but he's also quarterback of a great team. I just don't get it... if this was anyone else, no one would be talking about him.

That's why Danny Weurfful beat out Davis, he was on a NC team and had 3 other all-americans on offense. Sportswriters are hacks and the heisman is nothing more than a popularity contest. It's almost as bad as the Doak Walker award anymore, which Troy never won either, imagine that.

Doak Walker award winners are preferrably from the state of Texas. Walker played at SMU and was born in Dallas. If there is a RB that is even somewhat deserving in the state, it will go to that RB. In Davis' case, he was competing with Byron Hanspard, who was a decent back at Tech.

I remember watching the presentation of the Walker award.

Once that good 'ole boy took the state with his think Texas accent and gave off his little schpeel about the "Dr Pepper Bottling company of Plano, Texas......"

    I knew Troy was screwed.

Didn't hanspard have a 0.0 GPA the year he won it, or was that the Rickey Williams who went to Tech?

It was Hanspaard who had the outstanding GPA.
