Murphy's Law: The Greene Machine, Cyclones in reverse, the rap on Palin.

I would have to agree with much of what he says.

    i couldn't agree more keith!!!

all though i think chizik needs to have improvement in less than 3 season. i say 2 more full seasons and half of 3 and then he needs to go. i don't see that happening because ive been on the chizik bandwagon from day one and i still think he's the guy to get this program where it needs to be, but please hurry

    Re: Keith Murphy blog

When I watch teams like Auburn and TX on TV it makes me wonder if Gene did know how big the talent difference is. I do think he is the right man for the job but it will take time. With our schedule we could be a bowl team next year. Not only will our players have a nother year of expereicne but so will our Head Coach.

If we aren't a bowl team next year Gene should go. Our schedule is set up like no other and it''s year 3. Sorry, but it's how I feel. I also think we'll go bowling. Key injuries excluded.

Are you serious? At least let him filter out the crap left him and let him get his own seniors. Next year we will be playing mostly sophmores, red shirt sophmores, red shirt freshmen and whatever Juco's we can bring in. Hardly sounds like the lineup I want my job riding on.

I think Chizik knew the talent needed to win in the Big XII, he was just shocked at how little talent was here, anyone remember his comments after his first few spring practices?

    Re: Keith Murphy blog

I also agree with everything in that blog. I'm still very much in the camp that GC is going to get it done in the future but it does appear at times that we are not a well coached team.

I also agree that it is in really poor taste to use stock footage of a little girl that died at a very young age in an ad to sell DirectTV subscriptions. For me that ranks right up there with the blow-up Titanic slide at the Iowa State Fair. While watching kids slide down with glee, I can't help but think about the 1500 people actually died doing it for real.

    Ok, end rant. Go 'Clones!!

Agree totally with Murph about I-State, we need a win badly on Saturday night not only to help the teams morale but also the fanbase.

Gene Chizik is going NOWHERE BOYS...THE MAN IS NOT LEAVING AMES ANYTIME SOON!!!!

Regardless of Gene's record next year he will be back for year four in 2010....Both Gene and Jamie said that this was gonna be a long term rebuilding effort.

    I'm behind Gene 100 percent!!!!

    Go Clones

GC needs 5 years, much like Mac did, but GC will take the program further. We have some damn talented freshman and if GC and staff can keep getting these type of players, we'll be competing for the Big XII North regularly.

Are you really serious with this? You could say that it's year three for McD this year and the schedule is set up like no other as well - no way in hell should he be fired.

    Re: Keith Murphy blog

Actually, I thought the offense would be a strong point this year with all the hype.

Yet, we continue to look at a slow down, we will run the play eventually for 4 yard pass or 2 yard run, we will not overdo, on offense. We fail to break tackles, we run into 8 man scrums with the ball, we do not block on bubble screens, we run boring pass patterns, we are just not explosive. Our offense is gaining only 25 yards more than the 2003 team.

A little fire from the offense is needed. Instead, we look like we are going to the grocery store.

CFH HMagic bball season next year.

    Re: Keith Murphy blog

The problem is that we were competitive in every game but one last year. This year, we've been flat out dominated by two bad teams, with a weaker schedule than last year's. I expected that we would at least be competitive in every game this year, and that hasn't happened.

This is the reason there are impatient people coming out of the woodwork.
