Big time! Kid has perfect LB size, 6-3 210!!! Man, could put on some weight easy and still move well. I hope that by next year this is already LJ's team. I know he has made some mistakes, but he plays hard. We would not be where we are if everybody played as hard as LJ. I also hope that he takes over as the lead recruiter, as far as players go.

I hope this recruit realizes he could play 4 years, and that if you play well at ISU you will get noticed and drafted for the next level.

i also like the fact that hes also worried about academics .... and if you see hes interested in engineering and sports medicine .... two things that isu carries and i would consider "strong" in ....

It will be interesting to see what type of recruiting approach this staff takes after a few more years. Right now it seems every recruit talks about the chance to get some early playing time. That won't keep up forever.

i think a big sell to the recruits is not necassarily the chance to play right away, but the fact that chizik will let anyone compete for the job and if you play better than the other guy you will start and if you dont you will be on the bench. this is coaching staff that is pretty straight up about things and i think thats big for recruits

It still can work if your recruits are so good that you have nothing but one-and-done types; although I don't know if there is enough one-and-done high school seniors at every position to make that work either.

I like this part about GC a lot. You may not start, but you will see the field some if you are good enough to be playing. Also, GC doesn't bait and switch players. He seems to let them have a shot at what position they like best. If that doesn't work, then they make the change.

There are no one-and done types in college football. You have to be 3 years out of HS to enter the draft. Maybe it's 2?

Hopefully, LJ can work his magic with Andrew Green, as well. Marry and Green are two guys that I would love to see signed.

This is one of the benefits of recruiting from winning high school programs. Winning teams are going to produce more D1 talent than losing teams. If you can get a player like Leonard Johnson, it's going to help you in the future with guys like Mike Marry who otherwise may have never considered ISU.
