Are you in the NCC or CGC?

Just interested to see how many people are donors at all. It's an exciting time to be a Cyclone!!!

Re: Are you in the NCC or CGC?

So as of 7:57 Wednesday morning, there are 14 people in the NCC and a total of 14 who either aren't, but plan to or aren't and don't plan to.

50/50 split. Is it any wonder why we've been bad so long?

Kudos to those joining. To the others.......

Like said before i don't think people knew how valuable it was...or even how to sign up for it...or that you could even that there was a level of $50!

Re: Are you in the NCC or CGC?

Here's a question. I'm a NCC member, but not CGC. I was planning on upping my donation to NCC this year, but should I send the money to CGC instead?

Re: Are you in the NCC or CGC?

I think you have to take into consideration that there are numerous students on CF, like myself and it is hard enough to pay for school itself! I will definitely be a donor as soon as I have some $$$ though.

Re: Are you in the NCC or CGC?

One thought to get people into the NCC that aren't the die hards (yet) would be to give memberships at the $100 level as x-mas gifts. Is it set up so that you can donate in a different persons name and have them get the decals and such? That would also get them on the list for renewal next year. :-)

Re: Are you in the NCC or CGC?

I'm sure you're right, and I don't begrudge anyone who doesn't have the means. I certainly didn't hit the ground running with the NCC out of school.

But between looking at the NCC national maps and county maps for the 10% campaign, and the fact that so many didn't check "plan on joining....", well that's just a little sad. (Yes, I realize there's semantics behind "plan")

Couple that with being 35, knowing more than a few ISU grads who take at least a partial interest in the football and/or basketball program and yet don't buy tickets or join the NCC. It's rather frustrating actually.

Re: Are you in the NCC or CGC?

The website (http://www.cyclonegridironclub.com/) doesn't look to have been updated with much in the "events" section for a while.

Anybody who's a member, can you lay out what's happened event wise the past year or what's coming up if you know? I'm planning on upping my NCC membership, but am also considering stepping into the CGC at a $100 level to give it a shot. I know there's a tailgate and a golf outting. I thought last year they had a bowl charter. What else is there?

    TIA

Re: Are you in the NCC or CGC?

CGC does a lot of travel stuff. Went to Colorado on a train, bowl games, golf outings (with old time coaches as speakers), tailgate before FB games, special FB practices only available to CGC members (that was under Mac, who knows now) and a "tailgate" at the Knoll with the President.

Both the NCC & CGC are great. If you want to help the overall program I would suggest giving to the NCC. That will help with tickets, parking etc for FB, MBB & WBB. CGC will let you go to a few events.

Re: Are you in the NCC or CGC?

Sounds like my money will do the most good right now going to the NCC. I'll join CGC if I ever get the chance to move back to Iowa.
