I didn't even know this was a campaign. Spread the word.

    The numbers are pretty compelling.

Good stuff. It would be interesting to see how the $30m would grow by adding non alumni Cyclone Fans !!

The problem is, half of the living alumni of ISU likely are women who could give a rip less about athletics. Think about how many students graduate from ISU every year. It'd be pretty tough to get 10% of them to give $100/year, IMO.

You can't tell me that you didn't have female friends go to football and basketball games, can you?

    Re: 10%

We need to change this...How about we gain access to the alumni database and hire a really scary lookin dude to go door to door to get money. Just kiddin, but something needs to happen if we only have 6K in our national cyclone club.

stumpy thats beside the point. Maybe they did go to the games then, but they couldn't tell you a single player on that team now.

Wow, guys!!! I see the point you're trying to make (many women DON'T care about sports), but there are exceptions to the rule...

I disagree. There might be a higher percentage of men that follow the teams closely, but there's a fair number of women that know their stuff too.

Yes, there are exceptions. If the marketing department focused on the women's population, there might be an increase in donors in the demographic.

I actually don't think half of the living alums are women though. If I remember from my days in Ames, it was predominantly men on campus. I would say rougly 2/3 was male.

Maybe JP can add some sexy male cheerleaders for the ladies. Give them a reason for going. Pink basketball uniforms? Finger sandwiches at a deli down below? Real clean ladies private bathrooms in the new stadium? Plush seats with built in cell phones for chatting? Things can be done.

An abundance of engineeers, architects, and computer programmers just loved Ames. Those bonus elective courses in sociology were the only things that got these poor fellows married off.

Nope, all I want for Christmas is Tim from KU. He made my football season!

Actually, all I think it would take is just a little bit of interest in the female population. There has been marketing toward families and generally towards males b/c it's predominantly male driven, but even simple mailer to the female alums could draw attention. There are discounts for the under 30 crowd, but how about a female discount for season tickets?? Just throwing some ideas out there.

    Re: 10%

Let's just start a multi level marketing scheme. If each member of cyclonefanatic.com pledges to give $100 and find two non members to join the NCC to give $100 each as well as find two others...., we'd break in no time, and how 'bout tossing in $20 to Cyclonefanatic.com. I hear server space isn't free. I'm heading over to the donate link right now.
