    ISU football injury

We all know that AA has been fighting a really bad shoulder since before the Baylor game. So I wish everyone would take this into account when they wonder why we have not been throwing the ball down the field as much.

Be careful to judge on play calling and coaching if you didn't know the entire story. Just my opinion.

    I agree.

Another prerequisite of downfield passing is pass protection. That has been lacking as well.

Most people werent. I doubt AA would have played much at Baylor due to the injury. To my understanding his cortisone shot helped some.

That's because he doesn't start for the Green Bay Packers. Thus, people don't feel the need to talk about it after every single play, including handoffs...

Agreed ajk, at practice last week he wasnt throwing a whole lot of passes past 20 yards for a reason, I can only think of a couple from Saturday that were. He isnt 100%.

Well it explains very little, IMO. Our O-line is providing very little pass protection, and is not letting our running game prosper as much as it has potential too.

Very true. I was just more referring to the countless posts blaming play calling. We throw to set up the run. Its hard to do either when the QB can't throw.

1 of 2 things is the case then:

    1) AA at less than 100% is better than Tiller at 100%

    or

    2) The coaches believe this season is lost and, therefore, are not willing to pull Tiller's redshirt

So which do we think it is?

There are two novels that can change a bookish fourteen-year old’s life:
The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves Orcs. ~ John Rogers

    Combo of both.

AA certainly has more experience and understands the offense better than a true frosh.

And with half the season gone, what value does it really provide. If it were game 2,3or 4 - the situation would be different. It seems a little ridiculous to lose a full year for only half a season.

    Re: ISU football injury

Since the cat is out of the bag, we will have A&M crowding the line like Nebraska. I bet Nebraska knew as they had 8 players near the line pretty much the whole game. Not sure we can score much with everyone crowding the line so someone has to toss the ball deep. Wonder if this is a rotator cuff problem which will linger till next year. That is not good news to have a limited qb, plus his accuracy will be lousy throwing deep. This sucks for chances to score since we will not be able to ruyn against a bunched opponent. Bates might have had plenty of opportunity, but he bailed (not quit). This really sucks.

CFH HMagic bball season next year.

    How about:

    3) The coach knows that an unprepared Tiller wouldn't be much of an improvement over an injured starter who can at least take the field.

    Re: ISU football injury

Hard to throw the ball down field when your QB is not able to raise his arm above shoulder height prior to getting a cotizone shot. AA is a tough kid who truly cares about the TEAM and winning.

Too bad some folks on message boards want to tear a kid down like this for his "poor" play. I am sure the majority of it is out of frustration over the losses. However, there is no one out there that wants to win more than the players and coaches.
