    Cyclones close to another commitment

I guess the rough loss didn't hurt with recruiting.

From the look of the "team" the last two weeks, my 15 year old daughter could start next week, if she commits....

I think this kid is a sleeper and I like that he is 6-1 and can play CB. Maybe a great pairing with Leonard for the next 3-4 years.

Nice, I'll take any sleepers who wanna be in a Cyclone jersey right now.

I am still waiting for Chizik to pull in some more OL and DL recruits this year.

Wyoming & Missouri State? Are you kidding me? I thought the reason that we hired Chizik from Texas and the reason he filled his staff with coaches from Texas & the south and none from Iowa was because he expected to go where the talent is and compete toe-to-toe with Texas, Tech, and Oklahoma for recruits.

Gene Smith, 1993-2000. 7 years, 6 NCAA's, 1 bowl game. Revenue sports postseason participation 50%. Good.
    Bruce Vandevelde, 2000-20005. 5 years, 4 bowl games, 2 NCAA's, 2 NIT's. Postseason participation 80%. Better.
    Jamie Pollard, 2005-. 4 years. 1 bowl game, 0 NCAA's, 0 NIT's. Postseason participation: 13%. The next big step.

My ignore list: splitidentity, tarheelhawk, superdorf, clones_jer. That is all.

He can and he does (i.e., stealing SedJ from aTm). But just because you are trying to develop the capability to recruit in Texas doesn't mean you snub the talent in your backyard, either.

easy monty.. if chiz says hes like carlos rogers then i will be more than happy to take him. we are not at the level where we are going to get 25 recruits who are 3-5 star guys getting recruited by big time schools, we need to search harder and pick guys like this up. for example, guys like ernest ferguson, stephen ruempolhamer, or scott haughton. we were one of the only bcs conference schools to offer them, and they are playing right away so chizik must know what hes doing when finding talent
