Cubs or Clones - Who Disappoints More Year After Year?
Note - not giving up on the team, players, coaches, etc - just asking a simple question based on the facts.
I think it's fair to say that Cubs and Clones fans are as dedicated year after year as any fan-base in the country for what they get in return. The question is, which fan-base has it tougher?
When compared to other programs with traditionally losing seasons each year - ISU fans buy season tickets year after year in quantities that no other below .500 program could ever even hope for. With hope and promise always seemingly just around the corner, it seems that getting to that next level is like pushing a 747 up Mt Everest with one hand.
Similarly, Cubs fans find themselves as the favorites heading into October quite often, only to find themselves leaving the playoffs far before reaching the World Series.
Which team should win the trophy for most dedicated for least rewarded?
Sometimes it is the people who no one imagines anything of who do the things that no one can imagine.
ISU MBB: Bigger than a single person, player, or coach.
Re: Cubs or Clones - Who Disappoints More Year After Year?
I voted Clones, but thought it read, "which disappoints me more." It is the Clones because I am an ISU alum and care much more about how we do than the Cubs, a team anyone can choose to root for (although I did grow up just south of Wrigley Field and didn't have much choice there either ).
