    Tailgating Question

Whats the rule on bringing metal firepits? I know I have seen them and was thinking of bringing mine up, but may invest in a propane one just to make it easier...

I brought one up last year to burn some wood. We were told to put it out twice but not by police. They were just the lot security people. They basically told us to just keep it under control. Might I add that it was very nice to have.

    Tailgating tips for Cyclone football
Due to the anticipated large crowd for the Nebraska game and to ensure a great tailgating experience for all, tailgaters should keep the following in mind: (1) limit your tailgating to one parking space and do not block the path for other vehicles; (2) clean up your area before departing to the stadium; (3) tents should not be larger than 10’ x 10’; and (4) glass bottles, kegs and open fires are prohibited in the parking lots. Finally, remember that Cyclone Club donors and general public parking lots will open at 5:30 a.m.

    Re: Tailgating Question

There is a no fire pit rule. We brought one up last year and were told to put it out and that no open fires were allowed.

Please limit your tailgating to one parking space and do not block the path for other vehicles to park. Remember to clean up your area before departing. No glass bottles, kegs or open fires are allowed in parking lots. Tents can be no larger than 10’x10’.

Interpretation of open fires is not spelled out in the Game Day policies. In the past, they have allowed wood fire pits as long as they are enclosed.

    Re: Tailgating Question

The people tailgating next to us at the Kansas game had one and looked very, very warm compared to us! We thought they were in trouble when a security guard stopped at their tailgate. He was there for 20 minutes keeping warm

    Re: Tailgating Question

I'm guessing anything without a lid...makes sense grills you can close vents to make sure the fuel supply is off. But a fire pit can smolder for some time.

I haven't read the thread, but if the title is "Tailgating Question" I'm guessing the answer is "beer". You're welcome.

    Re: Tailgating Question

We brought one to G7 last year for the last few games and had no problems with security. I am planning on bringing mine again tomorrow morning.

    Re: Tailgating Question

Instead of a fire pit, I would recommend not being a "Sally" and drink more. Alcohol will take up less space in your vehicle than hauling fire wood and a fire containment device. Win - Win in both cases.

    Re: Tailgating Question

Please be responsible... Please please please.

having this many fires (open or not) is a recipe for disaster if not very careful. If I were you, invest in the gas fired version.... but that is just me.
