    Texan Tiller the Terrific

CycloneManai.com | Sports*»*Isu*»*Football: Cyclones struggling to shake Baylor loss

TILLER THE TERRIFIC: Iowa State's new backup quarterback by default, true freshman Jerome Tiller, didn't meet with the media Monday. His teammates did plenty of promotion on his behalf, however.

One teammate noted that the freshman, from San Antonio, Texas, once heaved a pass 73 yards in practice this season.

"Jerome's always showing off that big gun he has," starter Austen Arnaud noted of Tiller, who still may redshirt this season. "He said he never played baseball; I couldn't believe that. He would've made a great closer with that arm.

Tiller has a really high ceiling. Higher than Austen or PB had.

Tiller is all that and more. I've seen him throw and he can chuck it darn near the whole length of the field from his knees, and 50+ sitting down.

I wouldn't doubt that he would start this Saturday, quite honestly. Would be a good game to go for it, Gene. Take no prisoners, this is for real, not dress rehearsal.

No drinking here. Tiller is the real deal, and will be a big part of us winning out the rest of the schedule. The "keeping the redshirt" is just a smoke screen.

If he is that good of player, he would be playing right now. He is just young and needs a RS. I don't want to see him lose a year.

Use Tiller this season and you can forget about using him the second year after Arnaud graduates.

Give the pitcher back to the Kool-Aid Man...

Exactly... See Ohio State with Terelle Pryor... He is now starting over a senior for a coach that is notoriously loyal to his seniors... Tiller will be much better off to learn the system and strengthen that knee for another year.

Dikta can throw it a hundred yards sitting Indian style and using just his pinkie finger. Da Bears!

    This quote says it all....

We need to get into a situation where our players are juniors and seniors playing. I will be very upset if Tiller plays this year unless AA is out for good. If he plays this year all that will do is open up the 2 QB system right back up for next year again. I guess we will see.

Tiller is gonna have Lucca like mystique around him before he ever takes a snap.

Let's try to stay reasonable until we all see him play.

No offense but it will be a long time before I read something this dumb again.
