    Are we recruiting this school?

Ouch! We thought we had a rough game this past week. I wonder if we are recruiting anyone at Naples?

ESTERO, Fla. - The Estero High football staff gathered in head coach Rich Dombroski's office late Friday, almost in stunned silence.

Earlier that night, Estero lost to Naples High by 13. Not by 13 points. By 13 touchdowns. That's right: Naples 91, Estero 0.
I would also like to know more about these games, how is it even possible:
According to the National Federation of State High School Associations, five teams have scored more than 200 points in a game, with the record believed to be 256 by Haven (Ky.) High in 1927.
Rivals High - 91-0 game tough for both teams

Sounds like the winning team wasn't even trying and still had that much.

Wow. I wonder if you kept Valley or Johnston's best the whole game, if they could beat Hoover 91-0?

I remember playing for Davenport North in 1996, if it weren't for the 50-point "mercy" rule I'm pretty sure both Bettendorf and Davenport Assumption could have put that kind of whoopin' to us and barely break a sweat.

Ha. I also just read that parents of the wining team were mad their kids weren't left in for more stats.

My old high school's team lost their game this past weekend by like 74-0. I was pretty embarrassed for them.

I understand you don't want to rub it in, but at some point when your third string fullback is running up the gut and busting 20 yards a pop....what are you supposed to do? Down it?

I remember a HS basketball game against a bad opponent, where we were up in the first quarter 24-0, and they got a breakaway layup. A buddy of mine sprinted down and blocked the layup, and we all kind of felt bad that he didn't just let them have the layup.

In a middle school game we were down 17-0 at the end of the first quarter and 29-4 at halftime to Humboldt...lost 68-17

In football, we 50 pointed Eagle Grove about a minute into the third quarter of an 8th grade game.

I was at a game last Friday night(non varsity prelim game). 75-0. Winning team ran QB sneek 6 times in a row and then did the victory formation 4 times in a row to keep from scoring again.

Re: HS fball team wins 91-0

One of our games in high school we were up 35-0 and had only ran 4 offensive plays. Our freshman played most of the 2nd quater and we won 70-0 at half when the game was called. There are some bad teams out there.

I remember being up 49-0 at half against hoover. We threw the JV team in and we won 49-21.....we must not have had a lot of depth.

Re: HS fball team wins 91-0

As a Pleasantville grad, I am a firm believer in running up the score. That winning team was not running up the score. They scored 13 TD's and only kicked for the PAT instead of going for 2 each time.

Quit crying and play some defense.

Re: Are we recruiting this school?

I read on EDSBS that there were only 31 plays to score the 91. And that the coach didin't even know that 91 was a multiple of 7...
