Please, quit referencing the KU game as a positive

I see fans doing it, I see Chizik doing it, and I'm sure Pollard is trying like hell to do it with donrs. Stop it. It's what desparate fanbases do when nothing else is left. Let's not go that far yet. Plus, Kansas wasn't anywhere close to a positive.

    1) Kansas had zero interest in playing ball on Saturday. Ames high would have trounced KU in the 1st half. In the 2nd, KU made ISU look like Ames Junior High minus the nice drive at the end of the game.

    2) ISU once again got almost every break (including an on-side kick recovery) and still couldn't pull it out.

    3) Kansas isn't near as good as last year.

Additionally, it frustrates the heck out of me in that it reminds me of the false hope bought into at the end of last year. We played OU tough but were never going to win that game. Their interest level was about as high as KU's in the first half this year. We beat Colorado beause their coach made an arrogant game changing decision that their kids couldn't recover from. KSU was a bad team at the end of last year that quit a little bit more each week. While we tried to remember those games to generate excitement heading into this year, I think alot of people knew the reality of what I just posted about those last few games.

I was able to get myself pretty damn excited heading into this year, and that was bolstered when we did what we did to SDSU. The last few weeks have torn my heart out. Is ISU football improving? Maybe a little. Is it improving as rapidly as some of the other programs in the Big 12? Unfortunately, not. That's not good. Let's quit making excuses and referencing losses as steps in the right direction and get some wins.

p.s. Please also refrain from the ridiculous 'we're a young' team talk too.

Fans can reference what they want and can take positives when they want.

I agree with the thread. This is Major College football. This is not freshman football where you get excited because everyone played hard. You either win or lose. It's not your 7 year old sons team where everyone tried there best to score.

I am sick of these moral victories. In college football there are no moral victories. Either you win or lose.

Ugh, we all get it. Trust me we get it. But what can fans do at this point but be happy with positive things. Its a wait and see sorta thing on the wins. We could **** and moan everyday all day about every negative thing or we can try to take some sort of happiness out of the deal and show up with our cheer on every week.

Last time I checked, it was still a free country and people had a right to express themselves and their believes any was they chose. Not everyone chooses to find doom and gloom in all scenarios.

Perhaps everyone should filter their opinions and ideas thru you first, so you wouldn't be exposed to anything you might disagree with!!

It's unfortunate but true, neg rep might be a necessary evil.

Not a fan of the presentation here, but I'm gonna agree with the point. KU was not a positive - it was a perfect depiction of how we've been playing football lately...play hard for a while and then fall apart (or vice versa).

Young or not, we need to buck that trend, now.

I concur with this. It's people like the person that started this thread that were the ones complaining about the accumulating red boxes and wanting negative rep abolished. Here's a hint - don't act like a total dolt and maybe, just maybe, people might respect what you have to say.
