    Thumbs up New Coach/New Perspective

I think we're going to have to deprogram ourselves from DMAC. Gene seems to be more of a deep thinker and not the hand clapping, rah rah guy that Dan was. As Pollard put it, he wanted a CEO of football operations and that is what GC appears to be from the brief press conference. I'd rather have a CEO than a cheerleader. So far, so good.

I agree with a coach, but when the bar closes?

I don't know the key to success, but the key to failure is trying to please everyone.

I agree-I see a very driven person with a vision and the knowledge of how to execute on the vision, which is where I believe most organizations (including this year's team) fail. And there will be no spin-just facts.

He had no problem talking of his faith and how he and his wife prayed before making this decision, which I find refreshing in a society where religion is not to be talked about unless it is Sunday morning.

I also see him fitting into the ISU "family", not that DMac didn't, but Floyd and Eustachy were never comfortable in that setting, and I see Chizik being more cohesive with the rest of the athletic dept and the fans

    Re: New Coach/New Perspective

i will say i loved how he handled the media, he didnt change his answer on any thing, he very clearly said "it will take hours upon hours to evaluate the team" i think this alone says alot

I was also pleased with the fact that he talked about his faith and prayer regarding the decision. It shows that he is a man of integrity and is going to be honest to the fan base, even if a few people might disagree with it. I agree that he seems like he is very open to fit right in with the Cyclone family.

He also hinted that he isn't planning on using ISU just as a stepping stone when he mentioned somewhat jokingly that his children will be recruited by ISU in a few years.
