I'd vote for #2 but I don't know what an applegate is.

Gene Smith, 1993-2000. 7 years, 6 NCAA's, 1 bowl game. Revenue sports postseason participation 50%. Good.
    Bruce Vandevelde, 2000-20005. 5 years, 4 bowl games, 2 NCAA's, 2 NIT's. Postseason participation 80%. Better.
    Jamie Pollard, 2005-. 4 years. 1 bowl game, 0 NCAA's, 0 NIT's. Postseason participation: 13%. The next big step.

My ignore list: splitidentity, tarheelhawk, superdorf, clones_jer. That is all.

Why do people think it is so shocking that Baylor is better? What ISU team have they watched this year that makes it surprising.

Despite 2 nice wins to start the season, we havent really seen much else to be excited about except the 2nd half of the UNLV game and the first half of the KU game.

Not shocking. Probably more discouraging. This is ISU's second year with new staff, this is their first. And they throttled us.

Re: Poll - Why we Lost a Winnable Game

I think there is something else. This is a youthful team with a lot of players playing their first significant minutes. Add a staff that is still new, and there is one thing that it seems that they have yet to figure out.

You can say that last night's game turned on the 4th and 12 TD pass, and it did seem to take whatever steam there was out of the D.

This entire group, from coaches on down, does not know how to stem a big momentum play from turning into a complete meltdown.

This is something that I think comes with experience, which we don't have a lot of. They need to learn how to turn one play into, just that, one play.

    Agreed.

We've got the lowest athletic budget in the Big 12. You get what you pay for I guess.
