    Loved It!

Aside from the scary episode with the asst. AD and the HORRIBLE press questions, both Pollard and Chizik were awesome tonight.

GC is a man of respect and values. I really think this guy will represent the university to the highest degree. Guy was a straight shooter and it is obvious he will let his actions speak for themselves.

The fanbase must exercise patience and invest in the team and the rewards will be great IMO.

Maybe the press was still pi55ed at JP for keeping them in the dark for so long. He punked everyone on this hire.

    Re: Loved It!

and how about the guys trying to take pictures of the asst. AD when that episode happened. Thanks goodness he walked off on his own power. Agreed the questions were horrible and agreed that Chizik looks to be a great choice.

    Re: Loved It!

Maybe JP should help some of the local media outlets hire some better reporters, because that was one of the worst QA sessions I have ever seen. Did they all send the B team to Hilton tonight or what? There must have been something more important going on in the world of Iowa sports tonight that I am not aware of.

Most of the questions boiled down to:

"Durrr, uhhh, how many games you gonna win?!?!?!111!?"

He was asked what he was planning on changing as far as general play styles, and also what one thing most needs to be changed offensively. There was another question that essentially questioned if he would stay or go if ISU has success and a bigger school comes calling.

    Stupid media.

    True and Valiant

I also remember a game with Kansas when Cy (wore a huge suit then) went out to center field, squatted, and "pooped" a couple of chickens that had been dyed blue then chased them around.

THAT ticked me off, too. How awful is it that he had to be told by Pollard to knock it off??

Chizik is awesome!! I was so pumped watching them walk out of the tunnel!! I'm trying to upload pics.

    Re: Loved It!

    Ridiculous media questions were:

1.) What type of offense will you run?
GC: Need to ***** what type of players we have and run an offense that plays to their strength. Until I know what I have, I don't know what offense that will translate too

2.) Who do you have in mind for your assistants?
GC: I have some men in mind. Some from U of T and others. Going to take my time with the selection as it is critical to long term success. Emphasized it was very important he gets it right the first time.

3.) What are you long and short term goals?
GC: Lives for the present. Takes it day by day. Wants to "do the job he was hired by Pollard and Geoffrey to do" (great answer by the way)

4.) What do you feel are the teams immediate needs?
GC: Again..need to ***** the players and determine what he has before he can ***** needs.

1 or 2 other terrible questions and then it was over.

    Re: Loved It!

Another of the dumb questions was "do you have some people in mind for assistnt positions?"

    MCFLY!!!!!!

Did they expect "No, I'm going to do it all myself"

Ir reminded me of that SNL skit with Chris Farley and Paul McCartney "Remember when you were with the Beatles? Was that cool?"

    Re: Loved It!

I would think he would want to contact current recruits quickly like Bates. He still needs help at running back right away. He could run the Texas tech gap offense the first year. I would think he will like to throw the ball downfield 20 yards across the middle. Blythe and Milan Moses. It weill be a passing offense that attacks IMO. Like Colt McCoy did bewfopre he was hurt. Bret should have a fine year. The linebackers will be bombing away all day.

CFH HMagic bball season next year.
Let my Fred's Four Horsemen ride: Georges, Hogue, Nader, and McKay.
