    I enjoy basketball more... but I&#39;d have to say football, it would be better for our school nationally I think.

    <div align="left"><span style="font-size:12pt;line-height:100%"><span style="font-family:Georgia">Personally, I would be extremely happy with either, but I would probably go with basketball over football if I were forced to choose. Basketball has the whole magic of March Madness that Football lacks with the BCS system that is in place ( im not necessarilly advocating a large playoff system in college football, just merely stating the fact that the basketball playoff system is exciting and makes college basketball special). If I had to choose it has to be basketball but a football championship would be great as well.

    P.S. At this point in time I also believe that a basketball championship would be a little more likely if McD can keep getting quality recruits in here like Brackins. A long tourney run may be coming sooner than you think&#33;

    We would have a major increase in revenue if our football team was good enough to win the National championship.

    It would be much better financially for a football cahampionship, it would boost our AD&#39;s budget by a *****-load. but i would rather see a basketball championship. I&#39;d also like to see Cael get us a few wrestling championships too.

    I would vote for basketball because I feel it would be easier to retain a better team for the future than in football.

    I do not know if our football stadium is big enough for a national championship in football. And how would we explain those first 3 seasons with McC to the rest of the country?

    Football....bigger achievement. It is much more difficult for new teams to break into and win a football championship than basketball.

    I agree that football would be a much bigger achievment and would rather have football too. Teams can win the NCAA basketball tourney by mere fluke. ie.....NC State, Kansas, even George Mason was only two wins away&#33;&#33; But a NCAA championship in football would be no fluke and would mean mega notoriety, exposure, an dollars for our athletic program. A no brainer in my book.

    Actually winning a football championship (although more prestigious) would probably be a bigger fluke: like the time weaker Nebraska tied Penn State, years of the split championships, the need to only win one bowl game, the politics of who gets to playt, the rukle changes of wheter the computers shopuld be counted, one day upsets like Texas over SC, and the poll manipulations as voted by writers/coaches. When you win the NCAA you have six tough opponents in a row to beat, maybe even in overtime setting.

    At the same time, how many basketball teams not ranked in Top 10 have won the NCAA before? None come to mind except NCS. Yet they were a good team. We know the football teams will have to be ranked in the top 2 or 3 depending on how lucky they were in 11/12/13 games.

    Okay, I switch to football just for the money. We can always use the money. And like someone said, it would hurt EIU future recruiting.

    No question, football. It would be much more of an accomplishment given our history, plus a financial windfall for the whole athletic program. The stadium would be sold out on a season ticket basis for years to come.

    What if we went undefeated next year?....would we get into the championship game?...Even then I would say maybe.

    The BCS and the championship game is somewhat about tradition and media exposure. So if we even got into the championship game...that means people respect our program, recruits, money (ten times more money than basketball), and a packed jack trice every saturday and then some, let alone winning the championship game. We don&#39;t have that respect at this point.

    Everyone loves march madness but the exposure is spread out between the teams.

    There is a lot more fanfare around football.

    I think this makes football far and away the clear choice.

    With our SOS, I would say that at least 3 or 4 other teams would have to go undefeated for us not to make BCS championship game.
