    Gauging interest in Cyclone memorabilia

My wife and I are selling everything and buying a fifth wheel to live in full-time and travel the country so everything must go, including some Cyclone items. Things that I have found so far are:
    - 2000 commemorative collector's edition mini-wooden basketballs on stand honoring men's and women's titles
    - Cael Sanderson Wheaties box
    - computer mouse cover
    - all the Orr/Walden Bartles & James takeoff posters
    - Pillow
    - vhs tapes of key games both basketball and football

I am wondering if there is interest here for an ebay type auction once I find everything and post all the details?

    Let me know,

Id love the Orr or Walden posters... or some of the VHS games. I would buy them from you if the price is right. Send me a private message or email at andykoesterdpt@hotmail.com

Don't take this personally, but I might suggest a storage locker. I know a few folks who set out to travel the country, selling everything--and then after a couple of years, realized there was no place else they wanted to see. And bought a house again.

Either that, or pace yourself really, really well. Good luck with that!

You're going to be living my dream. Unfortunately I'm still at least 20 yrs from retirement. Good luck.

I'd be interested in some of basketball game tapes.

Re: Gauging interest in Cyclone memorabilia

Don't take this personally but that is exactly the mindset that has resulted in us having a 3,300 sq. ft. home stuffed to the gills. We just finished our third garage sale since we made the decision, the last two in two weeks, and every time we have filled the garage and all the table tops. As things sold we brought more stuff out, and we still have stuff to have at least one and probably two more garage sales. That is allowing for all the furniture and artwork and accessories that will be used to stage the house so we had a lot of stuff that we really did not need. It is kind of liberating to look at everything and say it is just stuff and that we had way too much space and stuff for two people. Simplify, Simplify, Simplify!

Our plan has never been to drive from one place to another, we are going to take our time setting a limit of no more than 200 miles in one day and extended stays at a campground. For example one night is $30 but one month is $300. If in one place we save on our biggest expense which will be diesel.

In answer to another question I have used craigslist and ebay on other items that are a grade above the garage sale bargains and that has worked well. I figured with the cyclone memorabilia I would fish in a stocked pond first and then maybe craigslist or ebay. Enough interest has been shown so I think I will sell it here.

Anyway with digging out for the garage sales I think I have got all the cyclone memorabilia identified. I will figure out the shipping using online tools (free if you are in the KC area and we can meet somewhere) and I will post the list here and then if we want to deal via PM or email that is OK with me.

I have been blogging on our adventure towards full-timing and also reviews of places we already have visited. There is a huge section on Kansas City for all you tournament attendees.

Re: Gauging interest in Cyclone memorabilia

I just recently purchase 2 bars in Tipton IA and I am looking for ISU memorabilia. Anything to hang on the walls or to put on a shelf. I would love to hang some of your items in my bar for others to enjoy.

I would also be interested in the Walden & Orr items / posters. Searching for those is how I came across this site. I personally went to Iowa State in 1987 and I remember those posters. Feel free to email me directly at rhinosgrill@yahoo.com.

    Thank you for your time.

A Cyclone bar in Tipton? Good luck. Also, I wouldn't put your email address in a message board. You'll have spiders crawling all over you.

This is completely off topic, but are you George Carlin fan by chance? This reminds me of a great Carlin skit, so I couldn't resist posting this.
