Re: ISU Improving at Home Under Chizik

    good find.

this part has me scratching my head.

Coach Chizik never even thought his team had a chance against the Jayhawks on Saturday.

"How could a team with such a resume come close to beating the No. 16 team in the country? Coach Chizik never even thought his team had a chance against the Jayhawks on Saturday. "

They didn't ask Chizik that question, because he expects to win every game!

Agreed...he would never say that, ever, not even Dan M would say that! Who knows, maybe someone from the register wrote the story incognito...maybe randy peterson in a haten mood on KF...you just never know!

"Despite the Cyclones’ impressive start, it is clear they are still a young program with a lot of growing pains to come. After all, they are just Iowa State, a team that has gone 3-14 in the Big 12 the last two years."

This is the quote that ****** me off the most.

"forced 4 incomplete passes to secure a tough victory".

    that was amusing.

Yeah - I'd say the one incomplete pass that they actually "forced" was the one they batted down on second down. First down was a clear drop, third down was tough catch to make, but in the end still dropped, and fourth down was a pass downfield that was overthrown by a yard. I'd probably more credit the young offense with choking before I praised their defense for anything it really did on that final drive. Their defense had a great third quarter - that's it.
