Here's a chance for us to help the Aplington-Parkersburg School. The Henkel Company (manufactures household products including Renuzit, Purex, Right Guard) sponsored a contest for a $25,000. Aplington-Parkersburg has been named one of the 10 finalists. The money will be used to help with rebuilding expenses associated with the tornado that destroyed their high school last May. In order for them to receive the prize, they need to win a nationwide voting contest. To vote, you need to go to
Parkersberg is at 76%. I voted, but I have to admit I'm skeptical of their motives. $25,000 is not a lot of money considering they're collecting email information and getting advertising by this. Either way, every little bit will help Parkersberg, so that's a good thing.
