Biggest surprise of the season so far

What player has been the biggest surprise in a positive way so far this season?

Personally, I'd have to go with Houston Jones.

    I'd agree with Houston.

Chris Lyle has come up with some huge plays from DE for us as well

I would say Jones, but I was told 2 years ago by heyguy85 that he would be a stud so I am not surprised. I am happy that RJ is getting the ball into the endzone this year. Averaging 19 yards a catch. Making some big plays.

Re: Biggest surprise of the season so far

Positive: Arnauds play in the 2nd half of the UNLV game, and the fact that were 2-2 right now isntead of 1-3

    Negative: Definately the personal fouls.

I'll agree with RJ. Nice to see him get some TDs. Hope it continues.

Wish we could be talking about A-Rob for Heisman... *sigh*

Re: Biggest surprise of the season so far

Arnaud's play has been a somewhat pleasant surprise. We saw glimpses last year, but he's really stepped up and played as a composed leader with a nice arm.

A little surprised the running attack has been so inept. That was supposed to be a strength to start the season...

Re: Biggest surprise of the season so far

I was thinking Lyle too. I've also been very impressed with Leonard Johnson, minus the two penalties vs UNLV. He looks like the best player on the D much of the time.

My disappointments: ARob, Marquise Hamilton, Colin Franklin, Rashawn Parker, Fred Garrin, Nate Frere.

My "I thought that they'd contribute more" players: Jason Carlson, Wallace Franklin, KO, Hayworth Hicks, Jerod Black, Cameron Bell, Alan Bell, Chris Weir, Euseph Messiah.

And, the all-injury team: Kennard Banks, Chris Brown, Bailey Johnson, ARob, Devin McDowell, Mike Bibbs.

Colin Franklin is going to be good. My prediction is that he will be the best TE ISU has had in quite a while by the time his playing career is done

I'm a little surprised that several freshmen are playing and contributing. Does that indicate the level of talent the freshmen have or the lack thereof we had before?

Not waiting in line 15 minutes for the bathroom. I don't have to monitor my input pregame.

    Probably a bit of both.

I would say Houston Jones and Leonard Johnson for me.

Grant Mahoney minus 2 of the kicks in the Iowa game.
