    401(k)'s After Yesterday...

So did anybody take a look at their 401(k) accounts this morning?? Now I know I'm pretty young yet, 28 to be exact, but it is still depressing to see that my account is $1500 below what it was 18 months ago, and that's after a year and a half of deposits, dividens, company contributions, etc. Like another poster said in a previous retirement account post, I could have bought and paid for a pretty nice car with all the money I've lost, and the car would still be worth something!!

Lost $31,000 in value yesterday :) And I still do not support the bailout.

I will take a close look at it in about 20 years.

    Re: 401(k)'s After Yesterday...

I'm down 12.5% over the last 5-1/2 months but I've got 40+ years go to before I with draw it. I'm kinda counting on this actually benefiting me... I'd be contributing more right now if it was feasible

Down 3% on the year, doesn't really matter to me as my 401k is just over a year old. Lots of time to go.

Down 24% since the first of the year, not overly concerned...

    Re: 401(k)'s After Yesterday...

Think long term folks. Also, didn't the dollar gain a bunch of value yesterday? So, technically while you lost dollar value, the dollars you do have are worth more?

No to the bailout too. Wall Street has been pimping us for long enough. Time for the john's to get a little revenge.

I would rather see them just give $50k to every home owner to pay down their mortgages then to see CEO's making over 300 times what the average employee make get bailed out.

Now that's a bailout plan I like. It's not even a bailout plan since they're giving us back our own money.

In 40 years, we won't need money any more, man will live on mars because primates will have taken over the earth. We will not communicate by speaking, it will be a sign language, esp type communication. We no longer need to eat, we get all we need from the sun. We can fly, but only short distances, and the Cubs still haven't won a World Series.

You forgot to mention that Ferentz will still be the head coach at Iowa.

    Now that is wishful thinking!

I do believe your primates prediction could come true because it already seems as if a monkey could do Sally Mason's job (as well as a handful of others).
