    401K or Vegas?

I'm young and I like to be entertained. Watching my 401K drop, not so entertaining. I'mthinking about taking that money and letting it ride on a trip to vegas! Who's with me?

Trust me on this one, as it is the best advice you will ever receive. Spend the next 10 years in the stock market, and you will be in decent shape. Spend the next 10 years in Vegas, and you will be ****ing some dude for spare change.

    Re: 401K or Vegas?

I would guess the average age around here are 20 and 30 year old somethings. 401K is a long term investment, ride it out and don't worry about it. If anything pay attention to stocks right now and if you can afford it invest in some that will likely rebound like AIG. Just a year ago they were around $70, now at $2.50, was as low as $1.25 the other week and they likely will repay their loan and get back into double digit share price again within the next year. Even right now had you bought at $1.25 you would have doubled your money. Fanny Mae kind of the same way, was as low as .35 and now is 1.56 which would be 4.5 times return on your investment had you got in when it bottomed out. I'm not much into stock trading so I'm no expert but even I'm tempted to drop $1000 on one of these stocks that have bottomed out and let it ride for aobut a year hoping to double or more what I put in.

I can go along time on the Nickle slots, plus my 401K doesn't have any free wiskey. +1 for Vegas.

If I was Young, single and free to mingle, I would go to Vegas. I'd probably go through my cash faster than I go through credits here though.

    Re: 401K or Vegas?

If you played your cards right and were patient enough for the grind, you could probably do better in Vegas than the market. Fortunately for Vegas, most people aren't that patient...

You only need to have money left over if the whiskey runs out. I was also told by the Music 102 professor that the only good whisky is spelled without an "e" too.
