    Sed Johnson

Hopefully we see this kid go nuts over the next few games. I had realistic hopes on his development, but I guess I was hoping for more than 4 catches for 44 yards in 4 games. Maybe he has gotten all those freshman drops out of him.

I'd love to see him become a real redzone weapon.

    Re: Sed Johnson

It seems to me that he runs some good routes, gets open, and has great speed. He needs a big jug of stick-em, and we'll be good to go.

I think that he needs a year in the weightroom. He has a good frame. Pack another 15 lbs on him and he'll be a monster.

BTW, has anyone heard from Jason Carlson or Wallace Franklin? They both seem to be MIA.

    Re: Sed Johnson

I'd like to see Sed make some plays, but that also goes for Hamilton, Franklin and Jones. Hamilton proved last year that he could be reliable. Franklin seems to be very athletic and a big target with some descent speed, so I'd like to see him utilized as well. Jones has been pretty solid this year, but he needs to stay conistent. I feel that Sumrall's reallly stepped up as well, so that's good to see him gettin' some TD's.

Bottom Line is that we have a lot of good options out there - just need to make plays - hit the open guy & hold onto the ball. Different guys will show up each week, but the guys that can really step up in the clutch should emerge eventually.......just part of having a young team.

Marquis Hamilton has been exponentially more disappointing than Sed Johnson.

I know, the guy has kind of grown into a small tight end, maybe he has kind of outgrown the WR position and that size is kind of limiting him.

    Re: Sed Johnson

Houston Jones continues to shine and Darks has looked good, so at least they arent having to rely on Sed.

As for Hamilton, he seems to lack getting looks in general. Maybe hes not open as much as Sumrall/Jones.

The WR situation needs to be shored up by seasons end, as Sumrall is graduating.

As far as this point, I'm not worried. Spring ball will be Sed, Darius and Jason's chance to blossom, and a year in the weight room will work wonders for all three. Plus, Lonzie Range wanders in--and maybe some Money.

Sed getting open is a point, though, and I have a feeling that sooner or later, someone will "forget" him, and he'll make a big strike. Still a lot of games left. I could hope it would be against A&M, but I certainly wouldn't mind if he blew up against Kansas, Baylor or Nebby, either.

It takes time to get your feet on the ground. He's comin'.

I'm looking forward to Collin Franklin getting settled in as well. He looks like a weapon waiting to happen, he's just getting used to all of that extra muscle--hasn't figured out he can run through and over people yet. Still thinking like a wideout.

    Re: Sed Johnson

I feel all the kids can play WR well enough for us right now, but im really looking for at least 1 stand out besides RJ by seasons end. Although spring ball and those players getting to be "the man" cant hurt with continuity with AA/Bates.
