Holy Crap - In one season:

Utah, Iowa, Connecticut, TxTech, OU, Texas, Kansas, Colorado and Missouri.

Looking from today's standings and perspective, that is not fun.

"We are first and foremost an educational institution that values integrity, honesty and treating others with fairness and respect".

-ISU President Gregory Geoffroy; circa May 2003.

Wow... if that was this season we would be looking at 0-12 or 1-11. Ouch.

Hope all the people that whined about us playing cupcake preseason games enjoy that season :)

And no Thursday night openers... unless they adjust that down the road.

Athletics doesn't choose when Homecoming and Family Weekend are. That's a different office on campus.

Not like it matters much anyway. ISU is 3-7 in its last 10 Homecoming games.

You'll notice that the 2009 opener (NDSU) has already been quietly changed on cyclones.com to a Thursday night.

The Thursday night games are always originally scheduled for Saturdays because that's how the contracts are signed. They are then officially moved 6-8 months before the season starts

We played a loaded OU team for homecoming in the mid 80s (1985 I believe) and narrowly lost 12-10. We actually should have won the game. It was the first night game ever at ISU...portable lights from Musco made it possible.

I cheer for two teams, Iowa State and whoever is playing the hawkeyes.

jamie said on that cyclone talk show on 1700 that he has the last 2 series for 2017-2020 completed but just needed to get the contracts back before announcing them... then he will have all games finalized through 2020...

I would much rather see an ISU game vs. Tulsa, Utah, Air Force and UConn than against some pattsies.

    Re: Future Football Schedules

In the two years shown why are we playing two road games each year during our non-conf games? Well, I guess it is better than this year where we had back to back roadies

    Re: Future Football Schedules

The 2012-2013 season looks to be pretty easy though. If Chizik is taking us where we want him to that could be a good season for us. One of those years with no Texas, OU, or Tech on the scheduled and a pretty light non-conference schedule.

Couldn't agree more with your statement. It's just plain dumb to have more than 1 non-con game on the road in a given year. It's too hard to come by wins in the Big 12 to be giving away non-con wins because we have to travel 1500 miles to Vegas, Storrs, Salt Lake City, etc.

There's nothing wrong with doing a home-and-home with some of these teams, but we can't do 2 road games in the same year. Is it that hard to schedule it so we alternate, i.e. Utah on the road, UCONN at home, then reverse the next year?
