    TWINS SWEEP SOX! METRODOME ROCKIN'!

I went to game 3 last night vs. the Sox and that had to be one of the best MLB games I've ever been too. The Metrodome was packed and LOUD after the Twins came back from being down 6-1 at the end of the 4th.

Here's some random thoughts and analysis for those that care. :)

-This team is flat out fun to watch. They don't score runs by hitting home runs nor do they need to - Offensively, they hustle all the time, are fast and know how to run the bases and advance runners better than anyone in the league. Defensively, they hustle all the time, are fast, have great communication and know how to play as a team.
-Ron Gardenhire IS the man and should probably be coach of the year, especially if the Twins make the post-season.
-Gomez, Span and Casilla may be all-stars in the making. No, it's not probable that they will go to the All-Star game with Mauer and Morneau on the team, but for being young guns, those guys came through huge this series and have all year for that matter.
-Joe Nathan is in a league of his own and I hope he retires as a Twin. The rest of the bullpen has exceeded expectations once again and they played great to shut out the Sox in the last 6 innings last night.
-Justin Morneau was 0-5 last night and had a tough night at the plate, but the Twins still got it done. I don't imagine Morneau will have another 0-5 night for quite awhile, but maybe he got psyched out by all of the "M-V-P......M-V-P.......M-V-P" chants while he was batting last night.
-Before this series with the White Sox, the Twins were playing poorly, but they also played 24 of their last 30 games on the road! I don't care who you are, that's a tough set of road trips and obviously had a big impact on their performance throughout the last month.
-Even if the Twins didn't make the post-season or they don't advance past the ALDS, the FUTURE IS BRIGHT for Twins Fans. This is a young team that has a lot of talent and unselfish players that know how to work hard and leave out on the field. Along with the new outdoor ballpark coming in 2010, there will be a lot of excitement to come!

With all that said, the Royals have been playing good as of late, and the Twins need to keep up the intensity to seal their post-season fate....but at least they'll be at home.

I could add more, but I need to get back to work.:)

GO TWINS! KEEP THE BROOM OUT TO SWEEP UP THE ROYALS!

Those are the only two things I disagree with.

Mr. Maddon in Tampa Bay is manager of the year. No questions asked.

Joe Nathan is good, don't get me wrong, but he's not in the top 3 closers in the MLB that I'd take.

    Go Southsiders Baby!

Although I'm very worried that we will be watching one of the great collapses this weekend.

Sox are inundated with internal fighting, lack of hussle, injuries, and have just been deflated in the Twin Cities.

Not looking good for my Pale-hose......but I'll root for them anyways.

I'll take Nathan over ANY other closer in the league. No questions.

Really?? That is just a ridiculous comment this year. K-Rod is 62 for 69 on save opportunities. No one is even close to him this year. Nathan is very good but K-Rod is better. Lidge is #2.

Whether or not he's the best closer or even in the top 3, I'm just glad the guy is in a Twins uni!

    In Joe we trust. :)

Re: TWINS SWEEP SOX! METRODOME ROCKIN'!

Maybe the Twins should keep the Dome on standby to schedule all of the Sox games there when Target Field opens.

The Royals usually struggle adjusting for the 1st few games of a series at the Dome. Hopefully the Twins can pick up a couple of wins and be in position to win what could be a decisive game on Sunday.

Unfortunately, the Sox might get a huge break if the Indians skip Clif Lee's start due to some nagging injuries. It might end up balancing out if the Sox end up paying the price for trying to juggle their pitching rotation. Burhle might be OK on Sun, but Floyd might have some problems if he tries to pull off another short start on Mon.

K-Rod acts like every strike out just won him the World Series, the guy just bothers me

That said I'd use Mariano before Joe just b/c Riv has proved himself when it counts and Joe has had some troubles this year, although the fielding in those blown saves definitely wasn't the greatest either.

BUT, Joe is IMO in the top 4 closers currently playing

EDIT: Thanks for the backup bsball :)

Yes you are correct (misprint), 62-69 but 62 is still 62. That's a lot of freaking saves.

Just means that they win alot and can't score enough runs to pull away from anyone. K-Rod gets knocked around alot more than the other elite 5 guys...

If only I could celebrate that much after I do my job.

As of right now, I'd take Soria, Nathan and Rivera in that order, taking into account contracts and age.

K-Rod comes in with 2 run leads and lets guys on. He leads closers in walks... Not a good closer, just on a good team.
