Any chance of a Cyclone Tip-Off this year?

I know the event got to be stale and then eventually put to rest, but MAC never has had one and Bill F is coming off a good year and poised to make a big run this year. Heck, let Cael and the boys make and appearence.

That always made for a great Saturday....football game, tailgating, hoops kick off.

Remember when Orr and Floyd had their "Tip-Off" events....I remember Floyd's first year...there was 10-12K in the house, I remember him saying he should of brought in more recruits due to the u.

    What happened to that event?

Ditto this although the same people that complain about Thursday night football games will probably whine about how inconveinent it is to do this because of travel but I do think it would be a great way to get students excited hopefully.

I do miss the tip-off though, gives you a chance to see the new guys in action before the season starts and the little contests they did like slam dunk and 3 point contests were fun to watch too. I think maybe they did a free throw contest one too once? Can't remember but I thought Jake and one of the ladies went head to head in either that or the 3 pointers 1 year.

When Krueger was at Florida he started up Midnight Madness and it was a blast. ESPN did live cut ins as they had Clark Kellog emcee the whole thing. These events are awesome for recruits and can get some good exposure... They normally had some live bands, student events all before midnight and the actual after midnight program was pretty short. Short scrimmage, dunk contest, etc...

I totally wish ISU had midnight madness back in the day when I was in school. I went to KU's midnight madness last year and it was awesome. People were waiting in line for HOURS to get in. It was totally good environment for recruits to experience what the KU basketball was all about and their tradition. I heart CYCLONES.

I honestly don't think we have enough fans interested to go to something like this. Kind of like when Cyclone Alley has their practice watches and stuff, not a very big turnout usually.

Although-- if they turn it into something exciting I could see it becoming popular.

I recall attending a Tip-off when Coach Eustachy was here. It was a blast. If I recall correctly it was a football Saturday, and the event started half-an-hour after the f-ball game was over. Hilton was nearly full and the place was rocking.
