Vegas Trip - Fortunes Won or Lost?

I haven't seen a tally yet of the real money won or lost in Vegas last weekend. I ended up + $170. Would have been a little more except for an ill-fated wager on the clones!

There has to be much better success stories (or tragic tales of woe) out there. How'd ya do?

Re: Vegas Trip - Fortunes Won or Lost?

Pretty weak actually. Lost about $60, maybe more.

I lost out on a parlay bet I made that had Oregon covering (they won), ISU covering (lost), Ravens covering (won and covered) and Rams covering (nope). Would have netted me $250 but both ISU and the Rams let me down.

Really wish I had made that bet on Miami to cover the spread though.

The wife and I never gambled a single penny (not gamblers obviously) however after buying many, many $12 martinis, $10 mixed drinks and $6 beers I can definitely say that we did not come home wealthier.

Re: Vegas Trip - Fortunes Won or Lost?

Clones shorted me a couple hundred damnit...other than that I lost more money but I don't know if I can call it a moral victory getting drunk at the casino starting Friday morning and lasting til Sunday morning and not costing me any money on beer. Considering the cost of beer at our casino bar was 6 bucks I prolly saved my *** 250 bucks on beer cost alone. Oh and gotta count in all the pitchers we drank at Hooters on Friday and Saturday.

If I had won money I wouldn't have even been talking about moral victory right? DAMN

I never really plan to win, so I always bet what I don't mind not getting back.
I lost a couple of hundred. Mostly on 2,4 limit poker over a couple of days. Still had a great time though.

Re: Vegas Trip - Fortunes Won or Lost?

For the weekend I was down about $150, which makes it my most successful Vegas weekend ever! Except for the first time I was there, when I was only 19.

Next time in Vegas find the nickle slots. You get to drink free there and you may win 20 nickles every once in a while. So you can't really lose more than about 20 bucks.

One of my co-workers won $450 on the flight to Vegas. She had a lot of $5 bills.

I didn't really gamble too much, in the end lost about $10.

Re: Vegas Trip - Fortunes Won or Lost?

My one success story wasn't really a success story.

Hooter's was doing two free $100 slot plays for new Player's Club members. My first time I spent the $100 pretty quickly and waited until Friday morning to do the second play.

    The purpose was to either:

    A. Hit the jackpot and win $1,000
    B. Hit the level below jackpot and win $100
    C. Accumulate 1,700 credits (equivalent of $850) and win $50

Other than what I listed above the machine didn't pay out.

So Friday morning I sit down to do my final play. And sit there for an hour and a half before finally running out of money. I was up over 500 credits a number of times but it was worthless. I still wasn't hitting a jackpot and I never got near 1,700 credits. So all I could do was sit there and hit the "Max Bet" button and hope I ran out of money.

Finally did, but I'll never get that hour and a half back.
