Can anyone give me any suggestions as to what i should do?
Lastnight i was cleaning up my pc at home and deleted a lot of files and programs that i didn't need/use anymore. that by itself didn't cause any problems. i was doing this to get some extra disk space and because it has been running kinda slow as of late.
I noticed my C drive partition was getting kinda full and that the D partition had some room to spare. So i used Partition Magic to take space from D and add it to C. Not expecting any huge performance improvments, but i can help a little.
Anyway, i made the partition changes, and it had to reboot to make the new partitions. it took about 2hrs for it to do its thing. so i went and did some other things, and came back and it was a black screen that said "missing operating system..."
that was lastnight at like 2am, so i haven't had too much time to mess with it. But i'm able to get into the Bios and it a sony viao, so i can get to the viao system restore, which it says will reformat the C partition only and the D partition will still be intact.
I'm always telling my wife to back up our finacial files on our backup drive...buy i have no idea if she has lately or not .
anyway, does anyone know what could have happened and do you think my HD still has the info on it or do you think it was erased? i'm planning on getting a box from my friend and adding my HD to it to get any info off it that i can.
